The home is conveniently located, clean, comfortable and has everything we needed. But we have two safety concerns we are sure the host will address. The outdoor motion detector light was off when we entered at night, and we tripped and fell into the drop-off in front of the door. There is a switch in the kitchen that turns off this light that needs to be labelled and always be on. The second issue is that both beds lack headboards. Instead, they are against walls with a sharp ledge right at pillow level, so one can easily hit one's head when lying down. No one expects a ledge with a hard corner behind their head.
We loved our stay at this property. Conveniently located for our purpose of moving our daughter to Vancouver to attend UBC. Located in a quiet neighbourhood with great restaurants in walking distance. Property was clean and well suited to the needs of our party of 3.
I am very grateful for a clean, quiet, comfortable stay in Vancouver during a stressful time. My son-in-law had a heart attack and quadruple by-pass surgery. I travelled to Vancouver to help my daughter during his hospital stay and home recovery. Mario and Kristina couldnât have been nicer and more helpful. I highly recommend this place
Very comfy and stylish. Beds and shower were great. Kitchen well stocked. I could have used instructions on how to work fireplace. Iâm technologically challenged!
We were visiting Vancouver to attend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert and were thrilled to secure this cozy apartment just a half-hour bus ride from Gastown and other downtown areas. Safe, quiet, family-oriented neighbourhood; quick and convenient access to the bus route; clear and kind communication from our hosts. Mario had left snacks for us and we so appreciated him offering an early check-in, allowing us to hit the ground running and explore the city as soon as we arrived that morning from Toronto. Kitchen was stocked with all the essentials had we'd chosen to cook more. Shower head/pressure was fantastic! If visiting in the winter months, I'd recommend packing a pair of slippers or thick socks -- floors were quite cold through the apartment. We'd certainly stay here again if visiting Vancouver. Thank you!
Mario was a great host. Good communication. This basement suite is a few short blocks from a bus route that goes downtown, so getting around was super easy. Thanks for being a good host Mario. We appreciate it.
This is a lower level walkout apartment with two bedrooms and a full bathroom with tub. It was one of the quietest places I've ever stayed, but it a block from the busy Kingsway Street with endless restaurants and shopping. Everything was clean and efficient, plenty of kitchen utensils and pots for cooking, a big refrigerator, couch, and small table for eating in the kitchen/living area. The "Little Saigon" neighborhood is safe enough with people walking with kids and streets of older two-story houses on tree-lined streets. Public transportation by bus would be adequate for getting downtown or to the rail transit station. Driving is actually very tedious but with four of us we got to our destinations alright. For a reasonable price this place provides all the basic needs and was fine for two couples.
Clean, well-kept 2 bedroom suite in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood with a good coffee shop nearby and many restaurants within walking distance. The host was flexible about arrival of one of our fmaily members who got in early and was leaving late on the last day. We had everything we needed except a microwave, which would have been nice.
This is a house that has renovated the downstairs into a rental unit. It is located in a residential neighborhood that we found central to where we needed to go. We always found parking on the street.
The following comments are our observations:
1. The sofa (not sure if it is a sofa bed or not) was not comfortable as one could feel the framework when sitting on it.
2. There is no AC (we knew that ahead of time) and we hit a heat wave for YVR. We only opened windows when we were there.
3. It would be nice if there was a microwave to heat up leftover food we brought home.
4. Another towel rack in the bathroom would be helpful. A single one was insufficient for us (3-4). We kept all our sundries in our rooms except for toothbrushes. There is a ledge in each bedroom that runs under the windows. We found that a great place to keep and see/find our things quickly.
5. The table in the kitchen only has 3 chairs; Iâm guessing it takes up less space as it can be pushed against the wall. Perhaps a fold up chair could be added if a fourth person is in your group. Wasnât a big deal for us as we didnât eat or cook there.
6. Washer/dryer with detergent was a big plus. To be helpful, we ran a load of towels and stripped the beds before we left.
Hosts are very nice, friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay there and have fond memories of our first trip with our 12 year old grand daughter. Place was perfect for our needs.
PS. Our GD loved ERNEST ice cream!
