I stayed at this hotel about five years ago because of its convenient location near the airport. At that time, it felt like a solid four-star standard hotel. Unfortunately, on this visit it seemed to be under new ownership and was being run more like a downtown two-star B&B. I was very disappointed and will not be staying here again.

Not worth the money

The sink was cracked, the carpet felt dirty and the breakfast was supervised how much you are allowed to eat. The choice of breakfast food was limited.

We will try them out again, front desk personnel were very friendly and eager to help. Shuttle worked out great , room was ok for the most part clean. The attached restaurant was very good for dinner, complimentary breakfast was ok.

The room was excellent - the only problem was the door key didn't always open on the first try. A non-slip mat for the bathtub floor would have made showering more safe. The stay was made more convenient with the addition of the "Bund" restaurant since western style meals are now available.

I made an adjustment with Expedia for my stay. The front desk denied that the adjustment happened. Then they admitted it but then put additional holds on my credit card. My complaints to the head office about the black mold in the bathroom were ignored. I would stay in my car before staying here again.

It's a baverian style hotel on the outside, lots of characters and charm, free parking in front feels very safe and clean, Chinese restaurant next door and Costco across the street, good location, away from the main area, but close by everythings, inside it's typical of an older hotel, it brings back some nostalgia from the 80s, kind of cool and it's very clean, staff was friendly, but the room could use a minor update, nothing fancy, just basic things like a new toilet paper holder, but overall, it was a good stay for a very reasonable price. The free breakfast included was great, really friendly & helpful staff, we tip them, great experience.

'Perfectly adequate for a night before fly out. Carpet is room was very dirty though, my feet were black just from walking around the room. Bed was comfortable, shower hot as lava if you're into that. Both the coffee in the room and at the breakfast tasted like undrinkable dirt which was disappointing.

Character Hotel - Highly Recommend

This is a great hotel with character. I don't understand why people criticize it. It isn't sterile like chain hotels, which makes it more interesting. Portraits and maps of Scotland throughout. Highly recommend.
