Just a good old farm house feel. Nothing close so it was a very quite and peaceful stay.
Was worried when we first showed up about the ac keeping up. Being so big, but it definitely cooled down and was very comfortable after being on the lake all day.
We were very happy with our stay at the farm house. One problem we did have was several of our group are elderly and climbing the stairs was too much for them. Except for the master bedroom, all the other bedrooms were upstairs. Needless to say, some people that we thought we would have beds for ended up sleeping on the couch downstairs.
The house was SO great!!! Love, love that it is not updated!! We couldâve stayed longer!!! I highly recommend staying here! The family that owns this property was great to communicate with! We will definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay at this quiet farm house. It is located in farm country and we loved the location. Just a short drive to town when we needed anything. Plenty of room for our family. Host was very friendly and communicate promptly
Have stayed here twice now when in the area for fishing tournaments at Lake Kinkaid. House is clean, quiet, comfortable and the decor is awesome. Heather is always accommodating and the muffins were a huge hit with our group.
The property was nice, large, and well taken care of. It is a fun rustic/vintage place with some nice amenities and not too far from WSRC. Owners were very accommodating. Only real downside was no wifi.
Immediately brings back good memories. Makes you feel safe and warm.
The farmhouse is an absolutely lovely time capsule of warmth and welcome. You just feel like you're a kid again staying with Grandma & Grandpa for the weekend. We booked this country home for our families to stay in during our wedding and it was PERFECT. So much room to socialize, eat, play, and not to mention prepare for our wedding. Every single person from our toddler nephews to the grandparents commented on how they felt right at home!
There were 9 of us who stayed at the property and there were beds for everyone! We see a lot of properties that say they will sleep 10 or more but theyâre assuming two per bed and with 40+ year old men we donât really like to snuggle! Lol
With two circle drives we had plenty of parking for 5 trucks and boats and didnât have to unhook to do it. The property is vintage in decor and brought back good memories to the older guys. 5 bathrooms is another big bonus! Would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time getting together with family from three different states at this central location. The house was perfect for everyone to have their own space and then also get together in the common spaces. The kids loved playing pool and UNO. We all sat around the fire pit at night to roast marshmallows. It was fun walking down the quiet country road to watch the sunsets. We even got to eat a crispy fresh apple right off of the tree in the yard! I think we may need to do this every year!
Our group of 8 adults loved our stay in this home!! We had a blast reminiscing all of the historical features of this home that are in perfect condition. The owners were very responsive and welcoming! The home was perfect allowing each couple their own bedroom and bathroom. We also loved the outdoor living space being isolated from any neighbors. It was the perfect location for a trip over to Scratch Brewery!
This vintage home is conveniently located to town. The large family room with the pool table made the stay there very easy with seven young men. We will be back!
Recently stayed here with a small group of guys when we were in town for a fishing tournament on Kinkaid Lake. The house is a short 15-20 minute drive from multiple boat ramps and the property is very easy to get in/out of with boat trailers. Communication with the property owners was the best I've ever experienced. Super great people and the 70's decor brought back a lot of memories for most of the guys in our group. House is very comfortable and so much better than staying in a hotel. Will be staying here again the next time I'm in Southern Illinois.
