The place looks terrible from the outside and it’s a mile down a dirt road. Once inside the rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is terrific. It’s not actually in Vik it’s a bit of a drive to town.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
No staff and no amenities. Thin walls. Close to Vik if you need to be close to that tourist town. More than double the price of others hotels in Iceland that have amentities.
The hotel was nicely isolated and quiet, and convenient to Reynisfjara Beach, while not being far from Vik and nearby attractions. Pillows were great! Thanks for supplying Kleenex (which we never did find at a store). Shower had great water pressure. Breakfast buffet was wonderful!
This property is an outbuilding with a vending machine, plastic furniture and a microwave as a “lobby.” This hotel was rated at “wonderful” and should have been “dreary.”

the service and reception on arrival was below average. the breakfast was above average. the location is a good distance from vik.
One of the nice things about staying in small places in foreign countries is getting to know the owners or staff and learning about the area. There was no one at check in to greet us, only a paper with a code to the room. We had trouble at first using the code and had to use the "ring" doorbell to communicate with the owner. The room was basic and fine. The breakfast was meh. Runny eggs (probably powdered) and other store-bought products. I would be ok with the average-ness of the stay if the room didn't cost so much
There was no wifi or tv. We were told that the connection was unstable and that it couldn't be fixed. The property is very remote and a connection to wifi and tv would have been nice, especially for what we were paying for the room.
Let’s start with all the positives which include a comfortable bed, a shower with strong water pressure, the room was clean and a plentiful breakfast buffet.
The areas that could be improved is having a small fridge in the room. Given that the hotel is a ways from any place to get food or beverages it would have been nice to have a place to put a few things during our three day stay. Also, I sent the hotel a message (using the Hotels.com messaging option) asking for guidance with the tv as it was not working but I never heard anything from them. Maybe being a self serve sort of place I shouldn’t have been surprised. Lastly, one of the bedside reading lights was busted and one of the wall lights was missing a lightbulb.
The location is 15 minutes from Vik or any other place with a store or restaurant so just something to keep in mind.
We stayed 1 night and it was very convenient to visit the sites in the area. It is a simple facility, however it offers basic accommodations, which is all you need. We have no complaints.

Mediocre motel. Not hotel.
Room was nice and large.
TV was broken.
Breakfast was fair and nothing special.
I would rate this place 2 stars.
