Green light in ceiling fitting directly over bed interrupted sleeping. Sensor kept turning light on outside room which could be seen under door and interrupted sleeping. Shower cubicle grouting and seals around door need deep clean. Decorative cushions worn at each corner. Not worthy of room cost other than for location at short notice. Disappointing.
The hotel, staff, restaurant and location are excellent
However the rooms facing the lane are extremely noisy... we were woken up at 7.30am by loud truck deliveries and garbage trucks... and late at night, the hotel staff would gather and talk loudly just below the hotel room windows.
Also, the hotel has no parking, so you either have to be lucky and get a spot on the street in front of the hotel, or pay to park in the lot up the hill.
Other than the noise and parking, everything else was great.
Location was spectacular. Great view from the patio and restaurant. Short walk down to the beach. The view overlooked all of Polzeath Beach and cove.
The food was hit and miss. We had a great starter, but both of our pasta dishes were undercooked (not close to al dente). The place was very busy and it seemed like the manager/owner was juggling multiple roles (manager, host, waiter, etc.)
The room was clean and nicely appointed. However, there were multiple doors to push through in the hallways which made trekking your luggage to your room a bit challenging. Much easier when they were propped open. Overall it was a nice stay. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Room and hotel felt like an upper class premier inn, was a little disappointed and there was no where to eat in the evening only the hotelâs restaurant, breakfast was lovely
Nice place but we got stuck in a wheelchair accessible room the first night although they did make the effort to move us for the second night. Also note that it's a 10 minute drive round from town as there is no link between hotel and town except shopping the beach....
