Clean room, but it was a simple design. There were no chairs or TV and the beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was our favorite part, the food was delicious. The location is good (between Stowe and Woodstock) and you can easily get to Waterbury and Waitsfield. Parking was easy as well.
Hotel and grounds were beautiful. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was great. The bed however was the worst bed I have ever slept in. It was so bad my wife and I contemplated sleeping in the car. It was a worn out spring mattress on a wood slab, no box spring. The mattress offered no support and you could feel the springs digging into your back or side. We stayed in room B2. I donât know if every room has a bed like this but this was absolutely horrendous. Itâs really too bad because it ruined what is far and away the most charming hotel in the area.
We had a wonderful stay, unfortunately we could not stay for long:( We arrived late but the owners left all the needed information available at the front desk with candy and muffins!! The next morning the cook provided a wonderful made to order breakfast of french toast and omelettes for our family! The rooms and the inn are extremely clean and decorated so well! The beds and linens are so comfortable! We hope to be back in the area this winter for skiing and would gladly stay again:)
Stayed here on night only in the middle of a college tour trip. Checked in about 8pm...noone at the desk, key was left on desk with receipt and room number. Definitely "contact less" which I did not mind at all!!! Our room was in Barn-B3 specially. Room was plenty big even with a Queen and Twin bed. Bathroom was large with a lovely walk-in shower. All the basics supplied....beautifully manicured grounds/gardens. Comfy beds, clean linens. Breakfast included was made to order...delish. Would stay again but would request a room upstairs if available as whomever was staying above us had kids that sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling at any time right up to almost midnight.
Very unique and quaint Inn! You definitely get a Vermont wilderness vibe with this barn and the attached restaurant and bar, I would highly recommend this place as a rental for anybody visiting the Mad River Valley for the ski resorts or other outdoor activities! If you're an astronomy buff or astrophotographer this place is great for low light pollution on clear nights to see all the constellations as well!
Good accommodations for number of people. Limited parking and owner had dog barking for hours in the middle of the night which kept us up. Would probably look for quieter accommodations in the future as the accommodations were primarily intended as a place to sleep.
Great location minutes from mad River and sugarbush ski areas. Great food and beverage options between the pub and restaurant, and complimentary breakfast! We look to stay here each time we visit the area.
