This hotel is fabulous, I booked late, arrived late and the staff were so helpful, the receptionist and the guy who offered to help us with our bags, they were very welcoming.. The room was lovely, clean and simple and really warm which was nice on a cold winter night. The Bed was SUPER comfy, our room had a shower. We didn't get to see the restaurant but will next time. We will absolutely be staying here again. THANK YOU.
The place was lovely, the room was very nice, food was lovely, but the room was so cold.

The Ridings is set in beautiful grounds, romantically lit with festoon lighting.
The bar and restaurant is really very nice. Really great food, attentive staff and good ambience. Couldn't fault our dinner. We did eat breakfast.
Our room was average. The bed was okay, it dipped in the middle so that was irritating. The hesting was on full blast and we couldn't turn it off. The lighting was awful, we had a choice between builder grade ceiling spot lights or two wall mounted bedside reading lamps which plunged the room into dankness. There was also a sculpture (?) In the corner of the room which could have housed a lamp or a secondary chair....maybe.
The bathroom was a little disappointing too. There was a long brown hair on the bath taps and both the bath and sink taps were covered (and i mean do mean covered) in lime scale!
We were staying for work, leaving very early and arriving back late each night so we didnt have the energy to raise these issues.
All the staff were lovely. The food was poor and the expectation of management to have only one member of staff to welcome, take orders, make the drinks, waiter and make the food for In excess of 15 covers arriving at breakfast within a space period of 10 minutes (which is the experience we witnessed). Very awkward and unpleasant and in fulfilling to see the croissants and bread emptying out and needing more coffee but would have been too unkind to ask for anything else we would need knowing the whole operation of the restaurant was being manned by 1 person. Felt very bad for him however annoying too that we were in a position to look after the restaurant rather than the restaurant look after us.
I arrived around 30 minutes before the end of breakfast, however the hotel had already run out of bacon and only brown bread was available, which was disappointing. The grounds could also do with some tidying.
On a positive note, the room itself was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the view from the window overlooked what appeared to be a dumping area with broken fencing and a dilapidated caravan, which detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay.
With some attention to breakfast availability and the external areas, this could be a really good hotel.
Incredible, my friend stayed here for nearly 3 weeks whilst recovering from surgery, they were absolutely brilliant from the moment she got there until she left. Fabulous hotel, fabulous staff. The whole experience was amazing, thank you ♥️
Ran out of toilet tissue by 10pm and the phone numbers on the hotel website were diverted to a full inbox.
However, we have stayed here many times and will return again.
The hotel and restaurant is very clean and all of the staff are friendly and helpful.
