Great location, very clean, super comfortable beds, plenty of towels, well equipped kitchen, tv with Netflix, there were some board games too. There is a nice deck and backyard with a grill (we did not have time to use but looked great!) Host is so friendly, welcoming and very quick in responding to messages. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends/family.

Everything was nice and in good condition we had a slight issue upon arrival but we contacted out hosts. They replied in a timely manner and everything was taken care of The amenities were very nice The location was good for the Metro. They could have used more privacy shades in the downstairs. But it was ok. The fireplace was nice as it got a bit chilly outside. Very clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the Monroe. The check in process was easy and the host was very communicative. Off street parking for two cars was nice. It was nicely furnished and well appointed, although it could do with some general upkeep. There were good restaurants in walking distance in Del Ray.

An Undeniable Darling

Imagine a place where the grandeur of American history feels so close, you half-expect George Washington to join you for an evening stroll. That's precisely the enchanting experience we recently discovered during a delightful stay in this truly special house in Old Town Alexandria. The neighborhood was an undeniable darling, and just a short walk to the Braddock Station Metro stop, which we rode into D.C. daily to see the museums, making it a seamless commute. The house was well-appointed and had everything we needed during our stay. For anyone seeking a unique and memorable journey, where stepping into the past is as easy as walking out your front door, this beautiful house in Old Town Alexandria comes with our highest recommendation.

Did I make the right choice
.I DID!!!!

I booked this property without consulting my husband or elderly father. I had a quick moment of worry about the stairs for my dad, if window a/c would be enough or whether we should have continued our stay at the hotel. Well I need not have worried at all, they both adored the place, the steps were never an issue, the house stayed cool and living with my father again was priceless!Every part of the house was thoughtfully curated in the colonial style, I felt like I was stepping back in time but with all the current creature comforts. It was especially sweet to see stock groceries, including some spices and of course the fully stocked coffee bar! Not a K Cup machine but the grounds they had smelled delicious
.and my dad didn’t complain and he is quite the coffee snob.The beds were amazingly comfortable and my husband and I enjoyed the game table that had chess and playing cards in the drawer. I took advantage of the backyard deck one morning by drinking my tea at the table while listening and watching all the birds and my dad’s favorite, a little chipmunk!I appreciated the off street parking and the central location to restaurants, gas, and medicine. But most of all the hosts! The people that run this property have thought of everything. They were quick to respond to any question and were very personable. If there were awards for best host they would win hands down!Overall we could not have been happier with our stay and we have zero regrets in leaving our fancy hotel.

Charming House for Washington DC Visit

We enjoyed the comforts and charm of The Monroe during our long weekend. A peaceful suburban atmosphere with easy access to the Washington sites by public transport. It was restful to sit on the pleasant patio after our days out in the big city. Highly recommend.

Our Christmas at The Monroe House was wonderful. Check in was easy, place was very clean, no problem with parking, house was cute and decorated for the holiday. Perfect! The host were there if we needed them, but we didn't. A wonderful Christmas holiday for our family.

Cozy house

Relatively nice place. Small rooms which is typical for the neighborhood. Very clean. Neighborhood is quiet. House next door is pretty sketchy (two abandoned cars in the driveway.) Landscape needs attention as the bushes almost obscured the front door. Hosts were very responsive.

Hideaway in Alexandria

Cute colonial brick house in neighborhood setting. We did not have a car and we were doing quite a bit of sightseeing so we were happy the Metro was in close proximity. The hosts were pleasant and accessible through the app or by phone. I thought the living room furniture could have been a little more comfortable for sitting in at the end of a long day, when we gathered to discuss our adventures. The chairs are stiff and hard and appear to be more for design effect rather than practicality. All in all the house is lovely, the hosts are gracious and the area is beautiful. Im not sure if laundry service is offered, but access to a stack able washer dryer would be a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this home and the hosts and I would definitely stay in there proerties again.

Perfect area
