The apartment itself was decent, but unfortunately our overall experience was disappointing.When we arrived, my husband and I ended up cleaning the apartment ourselves before we even unpacked. Some of the trash had not been emptied, and the overall cleanliness was not what we expected. A woman who stopped by to bring supplies mentioned there had been a mix-up and that she didn’t think the cleaning crew had finished preparing the unit before our arrival, which explained a lot.One thing that was never disclosed was that someone lives directly beneath the apartment. Every time my children were simply talking or walking around, the downstairs neighbor would repeatedly bang on the ceiling (our floor). It made us feel like we had to constantly keep our children quiet, even though they were behaving normally.Every morning, there was also a woman in the community garden who would scream obscenities for several minutes at a time. Throughout our stay, the apartment frequently smelled like food, despite us never cooking once while we were there.The surrounding area also wasn’t what we expected. A homeless man slept on a couch cushion outside the house across the street during our stay. While I understand this is outside the host’s control, it’s something potential guests should be aware of when considering the location.
