Run down inn

I booked a 2 night stay but left after 1. There were no towels, took over a half hour to get them, finding anyone who worked there was near impossible. The room was run down, ill equipped and seemed dirty. A very uncomfortable experience. Good location. Great ice cream.

When we arrived after 6pm the door to our room was open and the bed was unmade and uncleaned. The staff was very nice and friendly, but seemed very understaffed and somewhat unprofessional. Regardless of this, there Inn was full each night. Location, location, location

Very friendly staff and ideal location. Our room fridge didn’t work, and the shower water went from scolding hot to colder every minute or so. Additionally the toilet didn’t consistently flush as it should.

Great location. But overpriced for the accommodation. Small window unit type AC that will not cool the room when temps reach above 85. TV Remote control did not work. No trash bin in room. No soap supplied. Out of 5 days only once was I offered room service to clean the room or change sheets.

The check-in process was smooth and straightforward, which we appreciated. The property has a cozy feel, and we understand it's a family-run business, which often means limited on-site staffing. However, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, and there was no housekeeping service during our 3-day stay. We requested cleaning and trash removal after day two, but no one came. As the temperature dropped in the evenings, we discovered that the central heating had been turned off. Despite requesting a space heater, none was provided, which made the nights uncomfortable. Another major concern was the lack of support—there was no staff on-site, the provided phone numbers were unreachable, and there was no reception desk to assist with even basic needs. While we appreciate the charm and intention behind a family-run property, some basic services and a reliable way to reach someone for help would make a significant difference. We hope these issues can be addressed, as it has the potential to be a much more pleasant stay in the future.

I wouldn't do it again. Loved the location and space in the rooms. However, the check-in process was not the best. Instructions said we would get a code on arrival, we did not. Thankfully Mario and Charlene were there to assist. The room we booked was not ready/available so they did provide an alternative and that was extremely helpful. My room's toilet did not flush correctly and I did report. It's so convenient to Watkins Glenn Park and downtown. Perhaps our stay experience was due the culmination of a very large event weekend? Not sure, but we are unlikely to try again.

Overall the place is cute. The bed was actually very comfortable. There was no regular coffee out when we went down to get some and the pastries were the same from the night before. The bathroom does not have a door which I was not a fan of but we managed. The bathroom also needs hand towels and washclothes. I would stay again but hope they will put out fresh regular coffee for the morning. You have to text the inn as the front desk is not regualry manned and they never answered with several requests for a slightly later checkout. Even a no would have been better than no answer. Oh well. Id still stay again because the location is ideal and the bed was clean and comfy.

This place is amazing! My wife and I were on a budget and looking for a getaway for our anniversary, and this place nailed it! The bathrooms and bedrooms were average and a little quirky, which is to be expected for the age of the property. The bed was average. But the place was CLEAN and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful. And you can’t beat the location. Also, the homemade ice cream was soooo good! Definitely recommending to friends and family.

This is a cheap 2 star motel at most. Bed is comfortable and clean but that’s it. No staff here most of the time. Even the coffee machine didn’t work in the morning and no one here to help.

Two completely different experiences available. We were able to choose from a room in the main house that was over 150 years old. Beautiful room with lots of space! The other room was completely remodeled and modern. This place had the best of both worlds as well as very friendly staff. Great location to walk every where including to the entrance of Watkins Glen park. Great stay, highly recommend!

Never again

Think of a boarding house with paper thin walls right on the main thoroughfare of the town. Guests up early into the morning talking right outside our door. Then beginning at 2:30 a.m. two people from the creamery (I guess) in the kitchen talking up a storm. Finally at 3:30 I had to get out of bed and ask them to be quiet. Next comes the trash truck at 4 a m. with it's back up beeper going off and clanging trash cans. You can here every footstep on the creaking floors and every toilet that flushes. ZERO sleep
