Olde worlde hotel with heritage, history, lots of wood and creaky floors. The treads on the stairs were worn and some were held together with gaffer tape.
But don't let the common areas put you off. The room was really great. Money has been spent on modernising and it has been spent well.
Very happy with the accommodation. If you decide to go to Morrisons for refreshment, ask the staff for directions and save yourself a mole detour! Staff pleasant and helpful.
This hotel has seen better days. It was shabby and unloved. Most of the staff were unhelpful though the morning receptionist did give us a lovely smile. The room itself was ok though there was a bath inexplicably in the room itself. The room looked on to the central town square and was very noisy. Our bed was fine but others complained of very uncomfortable beds. There was no fruit at all available for breakfast. Parking was limited and far away. We were up two steep flights of stairs and the place would have been unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The stair carpets were extremely worn. Overall the place needs a total makeover
Enjoyed the history of the hotel, just looks a little shabby in some areas.
All staff were friendly and informative, we enjoyed our short break in The Hind, thank you.
It was a little like Fawlty Towers! The staff, although very helpful, seemed as if they where still in training. There was no bitter beer for the 2 nights we where there, and when asked for a lager shandy, a pint of lager was served! One of the staff could have been Manuel!!
A very convenient location, lovely room, nice breakfast and is being cosmetically updated. Fabulously helpful receptionist who helped me when I couldn't find the car park
Bedding hadnât been changed for 3 nights in a row even though they was dirty, even seen blood spots on the pillow. Parking very tight, barely any space etc so beware if you have a larger car. Tv in bedroom was probably 16â so you wonât be watching a lot of that. Most enjoyable part of the stay was leaving.
Room mostly clean, however lots of cob webs and needs a good dusting.
Radiator heat was poor but an electric heater was already in the room and warmed it up nicely. Bedding was fresh and clean as were bathroom towels.
Breakfast was ok, ate out both evening at the excellent Lounge opposite.
Feels like a place running on fumes until it fails, which is unfortunate because it could be much more if investment was available.
Was awoken on both nights at midnight by the fire alarm.
Staff were friendly and trying their best.
Very much a contractors hotel in my eyes.
The heating in the room could have been better. Despite the windows being only single glazed, there was no significant disturbance during the night.
An earlier cooked breakfast for those starting work early would have been nice.
