Location is convenient to the Te Papa and the waterfront....really to most of the city. But it is not in the best part of town....lots of stores boarded up, homeless sleeping in store fronts. But we never felt unsafe. Food places near-by are primarily take-away. Rooms are rather drab. Curtains were stained and ripped. Staff was friendly and efficient at check-in.

Clean, well maintained room. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay. Would prefer an actual door to the bathroom instead of sliding glass. Was a big gap so not much privacy. Good, central location. But a few homeless people out the front. Car park facility was convenient, but very small, wouldn’t want a big car. Was a squeeze in a compact car.

The hotel rooms were new, comfortable and clean. The staff were for the most part friendly - particularly those when I checked out. However, the hotel policy is to nickel and dime you for everything. They wanted to charge extra for checking out at 11, to have your room serviced, and for fast internet. Also, although I always felt safe, the location left something to be desired. There were strip clubs all around and some “interesting” characters always hanging around outside.

Check-in was straight forward, located in the heart of the city, everything is walking distance away, food, bars, shopping, waterfront, internal room clean with space, only reason rated 3 star our room didn't need full house keeping but requested afew things needing topped up to the cleaners on our floor, even ran it past reception but never came during our 2x night stay

Room was large and had everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Downfalls were the very tight parking garage spaces and the neighborhood, while close to everything, was a little dirty, lots of homeless people too.

Good buffet breakfast with eggs, sausages, cold cuts, potatoes and the like, easy to have a big breakfast before you start your day. Room was a decent size with a nice bathroom, great shower. No complaints at all and very friendly front counter staff. Would highly recommend. Close to Te Papa and other attractions.
