I have hosted short term rentals and have been renting many for years, and I would say that this treehouse cottage was very cute and well thought out. That said, I would make some recommendation's. It wasn’t clear in the listing how far the house was from the water. It is a short walk but details should be a bit clearer. We brought our own kayaks but the small road to the beach was blocked off for reasons unknown. The ponds are cute but very small and not interconnected. It was amazing that the treehouse had a small dishwasher, washer and dryer, but surprising that there was no microwave. I can see that space is limited. I would highly recommend some work on the fire pit area as this is often an attraction for cottage goers. The small chimney was jammed in front of a rock and hard to get the door opened and closed. Very heavy and couldn’t be moved. A nice, clean seating area around the fire pit would be ideal. The patio underneath the cottage was great, but there were no cushions out on the benches and I didn’t find any although I saw them in the picture.
Again the house was beautiful but I would have recommended a patio on the main level.
Bed was comfortable and this place was extremely quiet, which we liked. So although it was very nice, I would say it’s a bit overpriced compared to other places I’ve stayed which were either twice the size or right on the water for less money. I emailed one question about the doc while staying there and didn’t get a response at all.
