AVOID I had a guy shouting swear words and banging doors the whole of the second Evening of my stay. Corridors semelles like marijuana. This went on and off for hours and reception did nothing. I felt very unsafe. I found out the next day that this hotel rents rooms to the governement, so basically of you are a business or family traveller you have to cope with behaviour and share facilities with people on govermnent programs. Very shocking for a Marriott, no need to say I’ll never stay there again.

I cant actually give a review on the hotel as my reservation was moved to Oshawa. I received an email the day before. We were traveling with a team and the only ones moved from our group. I appreciated them finding me a room as everywhere was booked solid but it was further away. There was some confusion as to the charge for the room. I was told there would be no charge but they meant no charge for the additional cost of the other room. The other hotel was more expensive. It worked out but i didnt love the experience.

Even though there was a hockey tournament, the staff handled everything so that there were no interruptions or problems for other guests I have had very bad experiences at an Oshawa location where the hotel was overrun with screaming children that were unsupervised. This was also a hockey tournament and it made my stay a nightmare. The Whitby location had superior rooms and the staff were excellent!!!

The front desk supervisor was not courteous. He insisted in assigning a room on the ground floor even though my profile specifically requested otherwise. The room had no working phone so I had to walk back to the front desk to complain about the bug that I found in my room. He then insisted that someone check that there was a bug. When they confirmed the bug at least two other rooms on the higher floors were available shortly after being told no rooms were available on the higher floors. He never apologized this was the lowest level of service ever experienced at a Marriott property.

The property was convenient to where we wanted to be abd the room (102) was spacious and very clean. Also, the fact that complimentary parking was available which is greatly appreciated for sure. What was a bit of a downer was the breakfast area. While the area itself is huge, there seemed to be a shortage of tables to accommodate the registered guests when they arrived for breakfast.

EV charging stations available. Nice small gym. Large pool with separate hot tub. My adult son was with us so we chose the suite. Unfortunately the sofa bed provided had a very thin and uncomfortable mattress. Breakfast had expected variety, and all items were topped up promptly.
