We had a great stay at Derek’s place! The space was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Everything we needed was provided, and the home felt welcoming and well taken care of. Derek was a great host as well as responsive, helpful, and made the whole check in and check out process easy. The location was convenient and quiet, which made the stay even better. I would definitely recommend staying here and would happily book again.

Derek went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable. He was super responsive with any of our needs and the beds were VERY comfortable!! He even had makeup wipes and towels which was awesome. Great house and would absolutely would stay there again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was just as described beautiful views and lots to do in the house. Quick trips to all of the sites we were interested in. Only one issue and the host replied and fixed it within 10 minutes. Would absolutely stay again. Even left a couple welcome surprises for us. Overall a peaceful getaway that was perfect.

We stayed here for the weekend at Derek's place.The house is beautiful and well kept. Coffee was there for us along with a complimentary tub of ice cream and sparkling juice. The driveway is a sharp turn in and very steep down. I would like to stress the trek down to the river. The first third consists of very nice steps. The remainder is a combination of switch backs and stone steps. We would've benefited from more pictures of the trail down to the river and we could have come more prepared. I would not recommend taking kayaks down unless you have multiple people able to assist. It took 2 grown men about 3 hours total to take 2 fishing kayaks down and back up. Overall a really nice house and good vibes. The deck is nice on the river. The game room was a nice option as well.

Birthday celebration

We had a wonderful visit celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday with our adult children. We loved having a boat and paddleboards using the dock, hanging out on the porch and spending time together in the living room looking out at the river.We used the stove top, oven and microwave, and all worked well.Derek was a great host - very responsive to questions beforehand. He even left Andes mints on our pillows.We would love to come back for a longer visit sometime.

Chattanooga Get Away!

The property is all you’d ever want if you want a clean, beautiful and quiet location. The owner was super helpful with all of the information provided about the property. The house was lovely!! The location was off the beaten path yet very close to all of the attractions on Chattanooga. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

The host was delightful!! Could not have been nicer if he tried! Loved communicating with him! The house was clean on the inside. We tended the spiderwebs and vines on the outside a bit to enjoy the outdoor space. The decks were lovely! Spent a lot of time out there! Water pressure was good! Towles where new but limited. Had PLENTY of natural light. Dock was great and had seating. The Kayak Drop in was less than a mile away and PERFECT to drop in for hours of kayaking. Very convenient and easy to get to. The River itself was calm like glass and easy to maneuver the kayaks. Not too much boat traffic either! The multiple mile drive there was very secluded and had plenty of potholes. It was a narrow as well. Daylight travel is recommended. Driveway was very steep but "doable". We could fit 3 cars comfortably. If you are staying at his house, you need to know that there are 270 steps (concrete and placed rocks) to get to the dock. It is a steep climb but doable. Just plan to stay down there awhile to catch a breath. Once down there the views are SPECTACULAR! You will not want to leave! We would have liked to have had more than one towel and wash cloth per visitor. Being on the lake- there were days we needed more than one shower. Also- the forks and spoons were limited. We had to wash them to use for multiple meals, deserts etc.. There were 7 forks and 5 spoons and we had 6 guests. It was a nice stay and good memories were made!

Great Location, Beautiful Views!

Absolutely beautiful location with amazing fishing! Yes it’s steep but worth it for the views you get along with a very nice and quiet area. There is a boat lift which was so nice to be able to use and a ramp within a quarter of a mile for use. It had all the amenities you need for a short or long stay! I would definitely stay again. Girls trip

Very roomy and lovely view! Communication was very timely and description of property was just as listed. Long and winding road, so I recommend arriving in daylight if possible. Very peaceful!

Thanksgiving Holiday

Some of the photos are not accurate. For instance the beautiful dock overlooking the river (this was one of the draws for us) did not look anything like the picture and is actually in desperate need of repairs to make it safe. Additionally, there is a really cool fire pit but there aren’t any chairs. If this is something you love to do, just bring your own chairs, firewood and a flashlight to navigate the many stairs safely as it’s not lit. However, the house is beautiful locate, So serene, so picturesque

Great place!

Loved the view from the dock. It was definitely a long trek down but worth it when you get down there. My kids loved having the downstairs area to themselves. It was definitely isolated if you are looking for a place to get away. We enjoyed river drifters down the mountain and had fun in Chattanooga. The host surprised us with ice cream in the freezer and my kids were so happy. Be prepared for a lake stay! We brought citronella candles and bug spray and it was well used. Next time we would bring a kayak for the river! :)

Beautiful stay with above and beyond host!

My husband and I were looking for a picturesque one night stay for our brief one night in Chattanooga and founds the River Oasis. From the start the booking was easy with detailed photos, property descriptions, and directions. We love staying in places off the beaten path and this property is in a stunning part of Tennessee. The house was clean and had several thoughtful touches as additions that made for an extremely comfortable stay. Would love to come back with the whole family to have a chance to enjoy the river!

Cozy getaway in the mountains

My wife and I enjoyed our (too short) stay at this wonderful little house overlooking the river. The cozy cabin had everything we were looking for, and Derek (our host) made us feel welcomed from booking through checkout. As others have mentioned, the property is fairly secluded, so plan ahead. The access road to the house is very scenic (running along the riverside) but quite twisty and turney. Best navigated during the daytime (al least the first time) Plenty of good hiking and lots of natural beauty and interesting wildlife in this area. We are planning on returning-hopefully for a longer visit.

True Oasis

This home it’s just says it describes! Our family had a nice little getaway. The home was well stocked with everything you need. I highly recommend this oasis to anyone that just needs to get away. We will definitely be staying again! Thank you for your hospitality, Derek!

There’s a LOT of unmet needs in this property. I feel the most of the issues are neglect. Master bath tub doesn’t hold water. Two stove eyes aren’t working. The decks are in need of repair, as is that sun deck that isn’t shown up close! There’s 225 steps that are steep going to river. There’s no safe yard, it’s either overgrown or full of poison ivy. Derek will let you know you will not get anything back if you forget it at check out, plus several thousand dollars of threats if you don’t follow the rules. Not a good feeling!

This house on the Tennessee River is wonderful. A beautiful home in a beautiful location. We have stayed at many places on VRBO over the years and this home is in our top 3. Derek is a great property manager with prompt responses and a personal touch. Highly recommend.
