Room was dirty when we arrived. Pathways to and from doors were frozen over and it was clear that no guests were expected. Unable to reach property contact despite dialing daytime and after hours /emergency contact number. Waited over 2 hours before being able to get an answer from Expedia. Property contact never reached out with apology for not being available to accommodate us. Very upsetting after a long days drive. Had to find an alternate place to stay and drive longer than desired in poor conditions and after dark. No concern from Expedia or property contact for hospitality, or our safety.
I had a wonderful stay over the Christmas holidays. We loved the sauna and hot tub, the ability to use the kitchen to prepare food was also amazing given stores and restaurants being closed. The bed was very comfortable and the ability to add pillows or blankets (so many available) was very welcome. The small additions like candles, multiple drink options, homemade granola (omg to die for) and plenty of coffee options really hit it out of the park for me.
The decor was absolutely stunning and I felt like I was in a Christmas wonderland. Cindy and her dad were also so wonderful- Cindy was easy to reach and her dad drove by and chatted for a bit before we headed out for a hike.
Already planning my next stay with my friends and will be back hopefully soon! Love love love this place.
Property was very clean. We arrived late so no one was there but the staff communicated with us beforehand. Couldnât figure out the AC but it was a cool night so we opened up the windows. Didnât sleep as well since there was traffic on the street in the AM but the bed was comfortable. Light breakfast was available in the AM was good. Overall a nice experience.
Clean and quiet. Bed was amazing, slept like a log. Private entrance is nice too, we got in late and didnât have to bug anyone. 10/10 would recommend đ
I love the history of the building and how quiet it was and peaceful. It was a lovely spot and our room was beautiful. Very lovely set up and very kind hosts.
We were welcomed with homemade banana bread. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The guest fridge was well stocked and we enjoyed our morning meal.
The room and breakfast facilities were lovelyand we received a friendly welcome from the proprietor. I was a bit surprised by all of the stairs to the room, and my husband was quite concerned by the lack of fire escape from the third floor.
For a young couple, it would be great.
For seniors with creaky joints, not so much.
Whitewater Inn is a beautifully restored property, giving a lovely feel for the history of both the area and the property itself, coupled with useful books about the area, wildlife and local eateries.
Sadly, the downfall for us was breakfast! A promise of a visit in the evening to provide fresh pastries, muffins etc was, in reality, dated food, bread which had started to produce mould spores, dirty and empty butter dish and a very full bin in both the kitchen and downstairs loo. It was clear from an unmade-up room that someone stayed the night before and no-one had visited within that period. It just left us feeling a lack of cleanliness and care.
