The property management company was not in sync with VRBO. Our acceptance of terms was submitted but apparently went missing. They sent an email (went to spam blocker) and called. The call was not answered and they chose not to leave a message. Once that was all ironed out, we received the gate and door codes. Both worked well until we tried to leave the property for dinner. At that time, the gate code did not work. We called and worked with a person to no avail. Approximately 6 more attempts got the gate open. Arriving back at the property after dark we found the key pad to the home completely in the dark. I don't bring a phone around on vacation but my wife did so we used that light. Cedar trees over hang the fire pit so we didn't use that. They had rules against using the fireplace in April so we didn't use that. I've used VRBO on five prior occasions and those went smoothly.
Lajita was a comfortable and beautiful cabin to stay in. It had all the amenities and was merely minutes from town. I highly recommend this little cabin to anyone looking to get away.
The area for the cabins, in general, is safe and quiet. Walking the gravel roads among the cabins made for great morning walks! The cabin itself, upon first glance, appears to be well kept and cozy.
Needed: Proper drainage from the kitchen sink! Dishes could not be washed all at once, due to the backed up drain. The "temporary fix" of gray flex tubing under the sink that "needed to be wiggled" to drain (?) was not advised until after we had checked in and encountered the problem. As well, family members noted balance problems in the kitchen area, especially, due to the slope of the floor. The bathroom faucet was not secured and popped off frequently when trying to turn the faucet on.
Nice quiet spot for quiet time though close enough to activity and restaurants. Very clean and fairly well stocked with essentials. Fire place was lovely.
This was THE cutest cabin - very, very clean, well decorated/furnished. Everything appeared to be brand new. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town. The host was quick to reply when I had a question about directions.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Lajitas. Great little cabin in the woods that is close to so much to do and see. Very private location with a gated entry road and very quiet. The cabin is clean and nicely equipped. Beds were comfy and kitchen has most everything to cook while there. Fire pit was great but it wasnât cold enough to use the fireplace inside. I donât have any complaints, more observations. The road to the cabin is doable in a sedan, but better suited to an SUV or truck as it is not paved and up a pretty good hill. Definitely not for a sports car. Written directions/description to the cabin would be nice cause the map apps are not accurate. The cabin was definitely not built for tall people in a few places. The bathroom vanity and mirror are tough to use for those over 5â7â. At 6â3â I would hit the entry light fixture every time I walked in. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.
We really enjoyed our time at Lajitas on the Bend. Nice comfy and cozy cabin! I would definitely stay their again and it wasnât too far from the center of town. We also loved that this location was a short distance from other cities that we wanted to go an explore such as Fredericksburg, San Marcos, and Gruene. We highly recommend this cabin! Would definitely sleep four comfortably. Only a couple minor hiccups to the property such as no outdoor trash receptacle by the house to dispose inside trash in. We also didnât get notification that the hot tub wasnât working until 12 hrs before our stay and although we were complaining fine with no tv it would have been nice to have Wi-Fi because the service is extremely spotty out there. Otherwise we loved the cabin life and would recommend this location to our friends and family!
