Good stuff and not so good stuff. Probably excellent for a winter getaway!
The best thing about this property was the interior, i.e., the size and the beautiful, tasteful, unique interior decorations and layout. The spacious back deck lighting was also a huge bonus!
The motion sensor lights in the bedroom(s) were a buzzkill when trying to sleep. There should be an override for that and/or instructions on how to deactivate that "feature". There were cameras with scotch tape over them which wasn't awful, but just weird.
The outside has much room for improvement. The lawn appeared not to have been mowed in over a month . . . the grass all around the house was almost to our knees which did not bode well for the lawn games we brought, i.e., cornhole, ring toss, etc. The back deck pictured in the listing was beautiful . . . some years ago, but in reality today the deck has not been cared for since. The signage on the property and the different sections was broken or missing.
As the time grew closer we made multiple attempts to contact the host for more intricate information on the layout as we sought to find out the best way for a wheelchair-bound guest to visit us on the back deck. We never got an answer, but we figured it out ourselves upon arrival.
The house was the perfect size and the perfect amenities (pool table, huge backyard deck, large dining table, etc.) for our group of 8. Area was fun for exploring local wineries, cute shops, and quaint towns.
Weâd love to return again some day!
We booked the main house plus three additional units for four nights to host a Thanksgiving celebration with extended family. The location was handy for those flying in for the event and offered us great options for day trips. The main house had plenty of space for cooking, eating, and hanging out together. The teens loved the pool table, and we all loved sitting in front of a cozy fire in the family room and catching up on family news.
House had no Heating and Property Owner/Manager was unresponsive
We arrived and found the heating was not working. The thermostat registered 45 degrees. We attempted countless times to contact the Owner and contact Vrbo to contact the owner to no avail. Our stay is over and we have still to hear back from anyone. Vrbo was terrible to deal with considering we were on hold and passed around from âteam to teamâ for 4 hours. It was winter outside and the house was inhabitable without heating. I would avoid booking this property due to the heating and unresponsive host. I would avoid Vrbo after dealing with their customer support.
It is a beautiful property. And the property manager was very quick with a response about any inquiries. We were able to get two other suites after we arrived which was very helpful. And after the first night we could not get the heat to turn on so they brought us space heaters right away. I would definitely stay there again.
We came for a bachelorette weekend and had a great time! The house is beautifully decorated and so interesting. So much space to spread out and relax. Great place for visiting vineyards and relaxing hikes. I would highly recommend this home for your stay!
When I rented this property I let the property Owner know that this will be for a bachelorette weekend. In the listing it does say that there are other rental properties on site but that the rental properties are not connected. This is simply not true. We are horrified to discover that the rental property shares a door and walls with the additional rental properties. The lock was on their side of the door and could unlock it and come into our space. Our rental included a deck but the other renters continued to complain when our party was outside or anywhere near their door. It created a lot of tension and unhappiness during our weekend. The kitchen was also in pretty rough shape. The house is beautifully decorated and very charming. It was just a big disappointment about the lack of transparency regarding the other rental properties.
This was a nice place for a group of 14 near to Harperâs Ferry. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and the common spaces were great for us all to spend time together in. The only problem we had is that the grill was out of propane and we couldnât get ahold of the owner to get it refilled. We ended up cooking over the campfire which turned out fine. Some of the handles on the cabinets and the arms of some chairs were loose or broken - thereâs a bit of shabbiness to the furniture in the common spaces that should be fixed.
We rented for the bridal party to have a close location to the wedding events for the weekend. We had no issues and all seemed to enjoy their time. We rented the extra room as well so their was plenty of space to spread out for everyone. The property manager was quick to respond to our questions which was appreciated. Thank you.
Several friends and I stayed at this house for a weekend away from the city and tubing at Harperâs Ferry. Communicating with Charles was easy and I received quick replies. The bunk room upstairs was a bit warm but we made it work. Thanks so much for having us!
We stayed for a bachelorette. Property worked out well. It was hard to get in touch with owners and they never got back to us when we contacted them during our stay.
An excellent experience worthy of your consideration
Our stay at the property went quite well. I'm grateful that we were able to use this home to accommodate my close friends and out-of-town guests for my wedding at Rosemont.
The decor, cleanliness, and living space of this property really made this whole experience stand out. This truly is a beautiful and well-maintained property and I would highly recommend it to travelers thinking of visiting Berryville.
The ambience and decorations of this property were beautiful. A little misleading as the home is located in a suburban area, not remote. Also, we were asked to check-in later than 4pm, but even upon arrival, the home was dirty. Their were food crumbs on the dining room table, random pieces of candy on the window sill, bath mats hadn't been washed...Also, upon booking, we requested access to one of the en suite rooms. We asked for the codes, received them, and then when we entered, discovered they were absolutely filthy and supposedly not a part of the reservation...although that had never been communicated prior. Additionally, the codes for the keypads were changed overnight without us being notified and we were locked out. Overall, beautiful property that could be better managed.
We had an awesome time ringing in the new year at The Outpost. The spacious and cozy common areas were perfect for shared meals and bored games galore. The bunk bed room that sleeps 10 housed our whole group - just like summer camp :) We had an amazing stay and would definitely go back!
