You will find Queens Park just a 2-3 minute walk away from the cottage, with sports facilities and a lovely children’s play area & fabulous Cafe. Within a mile you can stroll down to the lovely town of Bowness which offers even more shops and pubs and The World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Bowness is situated on the banks of the world-famous lake Windermere. Lake ferries can be taken to other famous Lake District towns such as Ambleside, or if you prefer to take to the water yourself there are a number of options available such as motorboat hire, paddle boarding or kayaks. The Lake District attracts lovers of the outdoors but even if you aren’t into outdoor pursuits, there is something for everyone, from Michelin starred restaurants, to stately homes, museums, galleries, zoos and aquariums.
