We loved, loved, loved our time in this cozy cottage. We roasted marshmallows at the firepit by the dock, we entertained friends with the barbecue and we never ate inside as there's a lovely dining table for six outside with beautiful lakeviews. Our host was communicative and helpful. Directions to the house were difficult for us and our friends but we figured it out. We can't wait to return and make new memories.
The cottage (81 Sunset Point) is an old-fashioned lake cottage that has been updated (ceiling fans, nice shower, adequate kitchen, Wi-Fi, basic furnishings, etc.).
Host and hostess were very responsive to queries, their instructions clear and extensive, and the atmosphere quiet and enjoyable.
Two bedrooms are small with hooks for hanging clothes.
The four bunk beds would support children (or nimble adults on lower bunks). The Queen MBR is adequate for for two.The waterfront for this cottage is a bit of a walk over a gravel and wood chip pathway to a waterfront consisting of a stone wall and dock (no beach). If bringing a boat, you will need some care approaching the dock; host instructions advise residents not to tie up overnight but beach the boat. The only beach is in front of the main house, around the point from the cottage.
Lake Wentworth continues to be "a Class A" lake (good water, good fishing) so being on the water here is a treat.
We had a wonderful vacation in this clean cozy cottage! We were looking for a vacation that was relaxing, on a lake with beautiful views where we could unwind after a busy summer and this checked all the boxes! The hosts were great!
The house was immaculate but lacked common essentials like trash bags and salt and pepper. If we had gone for an entire week I probably would bring my whole kitchen. House had tons of sleeping space and was so quiet and peaceful.
We enjoyed this cottage for a fall vacation weekend. Itâs a nice two bedroom that easily fit my family of 5. The kitchen was well stocked and we took full advantage of the warm weather for some grilling. There is a pretty view of the lake from the house and a small marsh. It was a short walk down a wooded path to the private waterfront area with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and a large dock. We sat out on the dock and enjoyed the fall colors around the lake. The swimming area looked inviting but it was too cold to swim. Definitely hoping to come back this summer so the kids can enjoy the lake. Hosts were friendly and easy to work with.
