The wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Sheehan family Lakehouse. Check in was easy and the host was very available for any questions or issues. The house is just beautiful inside and out. Main bedroom w/queen by the bathroom then two twins and another queen bed in the loft. The kitchen is well laid out and met our needs. The grounds are beautiful but I will tell you that it's pretty steep from the house down to the lake so take a walking stick. There's a little shed by the lake that holds accessories for the kayaks, and ready to fish fishing poles with tackle even. There was even worms in the little refrigerator. The location is a central location to visit Mount Washington and the surrounding National parks, which made a great day trip. We had great meals at the Forest Pub, Shiloh's. There is a great little country store very close to the cabin which is closer than going into town. We had a wonderful four nights at this property.
Property was exactly as described. Comfortable and well appointed. We had a great weekend visiting the sights and relaxing. I would recommend the property to any and all visiting the area.
We loved the chalet! The woodwork is beautiful and sitting on the porch overlooking the lake watching and listening to the lions was a favorite! We enjoyed the central location to both lakes and mountain regions of New Hampshire. Would highly recommend! Thank you John for sharing your beautiful property!
What a fantastic location. Beautifully constructed cabin in the mountains overlooking the lake. Great location to get to New Hampshire State Parks. My family enjoyed the stay. Host was responsive. Cabin was next level clean. Book this place for your next stay in the mountains. Thank you for allowing it to be used.
We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabin with everything we needed and more! The kids really enjoyed the fire pit, fishing gear and taking out the paddle boat. It was so quiet and peaceful, felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We left with a new love of fishing!
My husband and I really enjoyed the serenity of this beautiful lakefront chalet! It was wonderful to sit, and read on the deck with just the sound of birds, and the beautiful views of the lake. We enjoyed watching a loon playing out on the lake as well. My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock, and caught several fish. John was very good with communication as well.
Lovely and peaceful property! This house os a gem, and my girls and had a great time paddling the quiet lake and listening to all the birds. We also had a great breakfast at the nearby Gather Together Cafe.
Everything was clean and no clutter. It rained Our 2nd day but that did not stop us from going to River Gorge. It is beautiful and a great adventure with the caves. The lights went out the second night but there was two small portable lights and a hanging lantern that gave off massive light. Great place to stay. Thanks again to the owner for sharing his beautiful place
The ideal retreat. A family home on the Lake in a great area on the waters edge. The house was like new and superbly equipped and maintained. I would have no problem in recommending it for a family getaway.
My wife wanted some winter weather for her birthday, so we ended up booking John's family cabin on the NH/VT border. We got in at night, and couldn't really see anything - but the address pointed us directly to the front door. The property was beautifully furnished in a modern rustic style. Central heating was nice, but the wood pellet stove added to the wintry ambiance. We nestled in for the night and were greeted with a beautiful view of the frozen over lake and mountains in the distance! The kitchen had everything needed for a few days and we cooked there a couple of nights to thoroughly enjoy the rental.Location-wise, there's the main local town (Woodsville) that had lots of nice restaurants and a Walmart maybe 10 minutes away toward the west. We visited the ice castles on that night we arrived, maybe 30 minutes driving to the east. We managed to visit the Ben and Jerry's HQ, maybe 1.5 hrs away and I-91 (about 15 mins away) provides a scenic route to southern Vermont.Overall, this VRBO rental was exactly as advertised and made for a beautiful trip into the northern Appalachians. Driving back to I-93 to head back to Boston, we saw the White Mountains in their full glory. The natural beauty in this area is truly magnificent. I'd stay again in a heartbeat...maybe in the summertime?
The property was beautiful and very cozy. We enjoyed our stay and believe the rest of our family would love to visit with us in the future.
Thank you for opening your home to us.
