The welcome was very pleasant. The Bar and restaurant area was very clean and well presented. We were shown to our room which was up a flight of steep, narrow stairs. The room was basic which we expected for the cost of the stay. There was a used cotton bud on the floor. We could have told staff about this but decided to just bin it. The bed and mattress were not to our liking, far too soft. The bed creaked very loudly even just from sitting up/ lying down. We were woken up around 7 am by banging of doors ? we thought it was staff and we were a little annoyed . However we then had banging on our door from other guests who said that we were locked in the property. The couple seemed very anxious and told us they had tried to call a number they had to find out how to get out of the hotel. I went downstairs in my pyjamas whilst my husband dressed. All 4 of us could not open the door as it had been locked from the outside. This was an enormous risk to our safety, if there had been a fire. My husband decided to go through the kitchen and out of the fire exit in there to then go around the property and unlocked the door.
All in all we would not stay here again. This review does not reflect the quality of the staff who were friendly and welcoming.
The other couple appeared quite upset.
Staff very helpful on arrival and during evening meal in the pub, which was very nice A Good Beer Guide Pub with 3 real ales, in good condition. Overall good value for money. Plenty of parking and in easily accessible area of Yeovil.
Very Basic. Food adequate. But DID NOT SERVE BREAKFAST. Had to drive some distance into Ueovil Town to find an adequate premises for something to eat
Nor ideal for diabetics who need regular meals
This is a great little pub. Quite a gem. We booked a room to break our journey to the west. Although constrained by the exiting size of our room, they had worked very hard to equip it with quality fittings to suit current times: excellent queen bed, large TV, fast Fi-Fi, excellent en-suite.
We had a drink in the bar and later had dinner there too. The food was just great!
The staff were helpful and the evening meal was excellent. The bed was comfortable but the lack of a window was disappointing. I didnât try the skylight blind as it appears damaged. The huge shower was very good despite the low headroom.
Clean and comfortable for an overnight stay, it's an older traditional local building so staircases to rooms were a little tight and steep but then I am older and of a larger build, Overall, clean and comfortable accommodation for my overnight stay.
Arrived in the Bar for a quick check in and a guided tour of how things worked in the room. The room was modern and clean. Large shower which worked correctly. kitchen next door with a big fridge and a carton of fresh proper milk. A kettle was provided in the room. So you only needed to collect your milk when making a brew. Nice outside area for enjoying the evening sun. Large decent private carpark with easy access. Meals in the restaurant area were excellent, and reasonably priced. I believe the kitchen stops serving at around 7.45. So its worth considering that if you are going to arrive late. I arrived on Friday evening. Sunday roasts are available if you visit then. Decent selection on Ales on too. Spar shop a few minutes walk for those items you have forget.
