4/10 Poor

The choice of this hotel was made because there were no other reasonable options, and because the reviews rated it "wonderful." That said, the available room configuration (one queen bed) was not what we really wanted but what we could get that was relatively close to it. We asked if anything else was available when we checked in, but were told it would be difficult. Our reduced expectations collided with the reality of the room: a queen size bed that took up most of the room space, constricting comfort and movement (less than two feet walking space around a bed flush against the accent wall) with a small chair and other furnishings along the opposite wall. Even the cozy bathroom felt less confining. The window was frosted, so no view. The wall-mounted AC unit was above the head of the bed making it difficult to comfortably regulate the room air temperature. The attached picture of the accent wall should evoke the sense of being in the room. The breakfast items were limited in choice and quality, so much so that we did not eat it the last day we were there (no refunds available). In part, we had been spoiled by the breakfast offerings at all the other accommodations in which we had stayed at that point, including a more modest guesthouse. In the end, our bad choice of what is probably the hotel's worst room.
