The property is immaculate throughout. Very tastefully renovated. The history of the property was very interesting. All of the staff were fabulous, especially Ria, Freya and the bar/breakfast staff. The Hotel wasn't too far out. A 15/20 minute walk to the City Walls. I would definitely recommend a stay, we will be back.

Absolutely gorgeous

Beautiful hotel, well worth the 15 min walk from town centre. Fabulous art nouveau decor, huge bathroom, lovely breakfast buffet.

The hotel was very nice. Room was very clean and a lovely size for the two nights stay. Food was very good, with an excellent choice at breakfast and evening meal. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

LOVELY HOTEL, BUT NO POOL AS AD.

A special night away with my young great niece. York was her choice, and I chose the hotel which is lovely. The staff are adorable and the breakfast was really nice. The only disappointment, and I only saw previous feedback later...I booked this hotel specifically as it is advertised on Hotels.com as having a pool. It does NOT have a pool. This obviously isnt something that's just been commented on, and yet the advert remains unchanged. Not acceptable for a Hilton hotel. We didnt allow it to spoil our stay. The property is impressive inside and perfectly adequate for us.

Poor night's sleep in decent hotel in OK location

Location-wise, the hotel is quite far from the city, and also worth noting the pool you can use is not at the hotel but at one 15 min walk away (in direction of the city). Public areas are very nicely furnished, room was clean, bed comfortable, plenty of lights and plug sockets. Breakfast was good, waitress very friendly. Biggest negative was the night porter banging on a neighbouring door at 1am which woke me up. While it's good they acted on a complaint, surely they could've done it in a way that didn't disturb other guests.
