What you can expect

  • My name is Maxime, and I am a live guide. I invite you to discover the Alsace vineyards, just 20 minutes from Colmar, through a friendly experience: a walk in the vineyards, a cellar visit, and a commented tasting of 6 Alsace wines.

    I welcome you to a family-run wine estate to understand the connection between the Alsatian terroir, the winemaker's work, and the wines you will taste.

    My goal is to share my passion for wine with you by making this world accessible to everyone. I share my knowledge with simple explanations, anecdotes, and discussions, without technical jargon.

    Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Domaine Camille Braun — Orschwihr
    Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: Domaine Étienne Simonis — Ammerschwihr

    Total duration: approximately 3 hours

    Walk through the vineyards — around 1 hour

    We set off on foot from the estate to discover the Alsatian vineyards. I will introduce you to the history of the terroir, the geology, the grape varieties, the climate, and their influence on the wines of Alsace.

    We also discuss wine-growing practices, including biodynamics. This easy walk allows you to enjoy the scenery and better understand the work done in the vineyards.

    Cellar tour — about 1 hour

    We then go behind the scenes at the estate and learn about the different stages of production of white wines, red wines, and Crémants d'Alsace.

    I explain the winemaker's choices, the wine-making methods, and the particularities of each wine. I also share a few anecdotes to make this discovery lively and accessible.

    Tasting of 6 Alsace wines — around 1 hour

    We finish with a commented tasting of six carefully selected Alsace wines.

    I guide you in discovering the aromas, flavours, and characteristics of each wine with clear and accessible explanations. Everyone can freely share their impressions: there is no wrong answer, only the pleasure of discovery.
