Please see the itinerary below for our Rome tour from the cruise port. Please note that the itinerary order is subject to change.
The tour will include the Colosseum (photo opportunities), Trevi Fountain, Pantheon (outside only), Piazza Navona, and St. Peter's Square (home to the Vatican). Your guide will accompany you throughout your day in Rome, except during your free time.
Our drive from the cruise port to Central Rome takes about 1 hour 30 minutes
Our first stop will be the Colosseum, which we will reach around 10:00 am - 10.30 am (depending on the port arrival time). The coach will park in the designated parking area, and you will walk to the Colosseum (about a 10-minute walk). Once there, you will have some free time to take photos and enjoy the wonder of this magnificent building (note that we will not enter the Colosseum on this tour due to time constraints).
After the Colosseum, we will head back to the coach, which will take us to Piazza Navona for a guided walking tour. The main sites in Rome are pedestrianised, so walking is the best way to see them.
From Piazza Navona, we will walk towards the Trevi Fountain. Your guide will tell you about the tradition of throwing a coin in the fountain, which is said to ensure your return to Rome. There are many pizzerias and gelato shops near the Trevi Fountain, where you can take a break if you wish, before walking to the famous Pantheon.
We will visit the Pantheon (inside visit depending on time constraints and availability), which is the best-preserved example of an ancient Roman monumental building and also home to Raphael's tomb.
After Piazza Navona, we will return to the coach with our guide and take a leisurely drive to the Vatican City. During the drive, your guide will point out landmarks and provide you with lots of history and information. We will arrive at St. Peter's Square at 2:30 pm, where your guide will give you information about the home of the Pope, the famous window, and the surrounding area. You will then have some free time to take photos, souvenir shop, or have a coffee.
The tour will leave at 3:30 pm for the return journey to the Cruise Ship.
