Overview

Morning sea-kayaking excursion to a spectacular sea cave, with calm waters and maximum tranquility to enjoy the soft morning light and discover the Costa Brava in privileged conditions.

This guided route leads to the Cova dels Rats Penats, a beautiful sea cave accessible only from the water, located in the bay of Sant Pol – S’Agaró. Along the coastal journey to the cave, we pass the natural bay of Les Sofreres, Cala del Molí — famous for its sea-cliff via ferrata —, Cala Ametller, and the distinctive cliffs and channels of Cap de Mort.

The activity is carried out in a closed single sea kayak (not a sit-on-top), which is more efficient, stable, and ideal for coastal touring. No prior experience is required: full instruction and a professional guide are included.

Groups are small (maximum 7 people), allowing for greater safety, personalised attention, and a relaxing experience in the heart of nature.

Activity itinerary

At the start of the activity, the guide will conduct a briefing explaining basic paddling technique, how to handle an individual closed sea kayak, and the safety guidelines. No prior experience is required. The activity is scheduled at 8:15 a.m., a particularly favourable time for paddling, when the sea is usually calm and the coastline can be explored in greater tranquility. For approximately two hours, you will follow a coastal route passing some of the area’s most iconic spots. You will paddle alongside the cliffs of Les Sofreres and its natural bay, pass Cala del Molí — known for its spectacular sea-cliff via ferrata —, continue towards Cala Ametller, and explore the dramatic cliffs and channels of Cap de Mort. The main objective of the route is reaching the Cova dels Rats Penats, a beautiful sea cave accessible only from the water. After the visit, you will return along the same coastal route, enjoying the scenery and the calmer conditions typical of the early morning hours. The activity is conducted exclusively in individual closed sea kayaks (not sit-on-top), designed for touring thanks to their efficiency, stability, and protection.
