Lovely spacious house on deep, shady property. Perfect for safe vacation with (yet unvaccinated) younger children--dock for boating and pool for private swimming, quiet neighborhood for walks and bike-riding, plus extras: swing, hammock, soccer net. Near St. Michaels and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Great stay!
Pro:
- Nice flat yard, great for us to set up our badminton net.
- Well kept. Nice sofa in livingroom. Beds were decent.
- Great home layout for groups.
- Two TV rooms so people could do different stuff.
- Nice big table for games.
- Screened in porch was great to have, lots of seating.
- Private lot. Didn't see a neighbor all week.
- Location and Landscaping was really nice
Cons:
- Pool heater wasn't working but pool was nice size and deep.
- Cell service didn't work very well, but wifi was good.
- AC in the middle of the house worked well but it seemed to struggle at the ends of the house during the day.
- Every single door stuck. The backdoor was really bad. Impossible to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom without making loud door noises.
- Could not find the pool light and never could get an answer from the property manager on that (no answer after 4 days, frustrating)
Good news on the above, most of that can be addressed easily.
The houseâs location on the water and the surrounding neighborhood are lovely but we ran into several serious cleanliness issues during our stay. 1) the landscaping crew came the first day during our stay (they said they were supposed to come the day prior) and were very loud which was an inconvenience for us able to be outside to enjoy the property and incredibly loud during my babyâs nap 2) the garbage disposal made a concerning noise and probably needs to be replaced. We werenât able to use it during our stay. . 3) the pool heater was broken which someone let us know ahead of time but did not offer a solution. they later added a heating fee to the listing months after we booked. Due to the unseasonably cold MDW, the pool was too cold to use 4) there were ants all over the house 5) on the last day we found mouse droppings in one of the bed rooms. We couldnât wait to get out!
This home has the most impressive collection of living areas of any we have stayed in: living room, screened in porch, sun room. The outside space are just as spectacular: huge lawn, beautiful pool, fire pit, and dock. The pictures do not do the setting full justice--its absolutely beautiful.
