We visited Eleuthera for a college graduation trip with our two young adult kids. The house was spacious and right next to the beach, with beautiful views and easy access. The kitchen had all of the pots and cookware we needed. The beach and water were beautiful, and the home had plenty of chairs on the patio and beach, plus a kayak. We saw only a few people on the beach during the 5 day visit. We enjoyed our trip!At the house, the only two additional things we would have liked were a Keurig for coffee and curtains/blinds on the bedroom doors leading to the outside. Without shades on the doors, the sun woke us up earlier than usual in the morning.Regarding the island, even though we read about trash washed up on the beach, we were surprised at how much there was, typically caught in the seaweed at the high water line. This was disappointing to see in such a beautiful place, although it was not specific to this particular home. And, there was no recycling on the island, which was also disappointing, as we're in the habit of regularly recycling to divert waste from the landfill. We were able to drop glass at Island Farms for reuse. A few other notes: -island prices for groceries, gas, & dining out are very high (2-3 times higher than usual)-have some cash on hand (a few stores lost power one day and couldn't process credit cards)-be prepared to buy bottled water as island tap water is not drinkable (the house had giant jugs you can use & replace; we bought our own)
