After speaking with the general manager regarding the price we paid for the room I felt she was try to make me feel guilty for their pricing mistake, even although this was our 3rd stay this year. She was not very pleasent to speak with. As long as this GM is in place we will venture to other hotels.

All staff were friendly, professional and genuinely lovely. Gorgeous spa. Food was really tasty and good choice. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a superior woodland lodge, which was really lovely. Walked around Koch faskally and into Pitlochry which was a lovely. Overall wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary and hopefully we will be lucky enough to visit again x

This is such a nice hotel. We brought our young dog and she was very welcome, they have a cute welcome pack for dogs that includes a bed etc The breakfast was amazing. Our only negatives were that the outside hot tub was not hot enough, when it is 0 degrees outside the hot tub needs to be hot! Our other negative is that there’s a security light outside the lodge rooms that is super sensitive so it came on constantly through the night and the blind couldn’t keep the light out and there was no door on that area of the room either to shut it out.

Beautiful hotel - staff extremely helpful and efficient. Well appointed rooms - lovely decor and furnishings, bathrooms had plentiful toiletries and amenity kits. Cleanliness throughout. Food was fantastic in both restaurants - especially enjoyed the dinner at Sandemans. Big thank you to Daniel and his colleagues for making it a lovely experience - and huge congratulations to Chef and his team for the fabulous menu. The food was outstanding! Enjoyed using the pool and sauna facilities - spa staff were very friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to experience great food and Scottish hospitality! Hoping to make a return visit for sure. Thank you so much!

Stayed a couple of years ago and definitely gone downhill. Seems to be reducing costs at detriment to customer experience. Low quality toiletries (not even supplied on first night). Pool/spa area needing a refurb, lockers not working in changing rooms, pool area needing refreshed and painted. Hot tubs outside not fully working and scum around rim. . Lack of variety in breakfast fruit options and low quality in cooked breakfast. Overall not a 5 star experience and really disappointed.

All the staff we came into contact with were polite and helpful. We stayed in a lodge with view over the loch (L22). The room was cold on arrival, it was November and there was no heating on. It took us a minute to find a radiator and to get the heating going. The room itself was OK, the positives; it was clean, had a lovely large bed, nice view, beautiful bathroom with separate bath and shower. The negatives; the decor in the bedroom really didn’t compliment the room or draw on the surrounding woodland. It was out of keeping with the rest of the hotel and if I’m honest a bit tacky, not what we had expected. The furniture wooden cabinets etc looked like they need some TLC, few marks on the walls and the ceiling at some point had obviously been plastered but was a bit rough. We felt that there were little touches missing from a 5 star experience. The lodge felt a bit too detached from the main hotel. We didn’t really feel that it reflected what we had paid for our stay. Maybe if we had stayed in the main hotel then we would have felt differently. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and a good range of choice. The spa and pool were also very nice. The changing rooms needed a bit of attention, the showers were missing locks and the shampoo/conditioner etc were all running low.

The whole stay was fantastic! The staff are ALL so welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere when you walk in is warm. The breakfast was great plenty to choose from as well. The concierges are more than accommodating, the scenery and setting phenomenal. It was peaceful, the bar lounge is comfortable and a gorgeous view - even when it is raining! Bedroom so comfortable and a proper size television in the room too! Tea and coffee amenities and robe and slippers and an umbrella. We will definitely he back sooner rather than later

We’ve been staying at Fonab for the last 7 years, since before it was bought out by a bigger company. And if I’m honest, it has declined yearly. It’s no longer a five start hotel. Maybe 4 at best. It’s tired and needs some love and a revamp. And a lot of reviews say this. It’s true. And it’s a shame. She staff are brilliant, but as other reviews suggest, there aren’t enough. We weren’t told that we were expected to take our breakfast in bed card to the front desk, which apparently we are supposed to do (at a 5 start hotel?!) so we placed it outside our door as it said on the card and no breakfast came. When we dialled 0 (as it tells us to do on the tv screen for room service) we were told to phone a different number as that was a special line. Food came eventually. The second day I ordered french toast and it came as pancakes. They replace the meals no problem but all the little bits shouldn’t really happen in the first place. Overall, the wood panels on the rooms need repainting. There is dust and lint everywhere. We stayed in a doggy room with an infant and made the mistake of letting her play on the floor until I realised she was eating various other people’s dog hair on her toys. I’m not sure it’s hoovered but if it is, they need new hoovers that actually pick up. Sorry Fonab, we will probably look at a new hotel for our Enchanted Forest stay in the future.
