This Hotel is right across from where you would get a ship’s departure and it’s very convenient. It is walking distance to many eateries and shopping from behind this hotel. Very walkable. We had a baloney which you could sit out on and it faced the Main Street so you could enjoy its beautiful streets and facing the ocean bay and mountains.

On the day arrived we had had a long drive so we had decided that we would just eat "in" that evening - problem number one: they had an "event" on and we couldn't get into the dining room! It was a pity that no one had warned us about this. So, we had to go out to find dinner, which probably turned out to be the better option, although we were both tired. Our room was good, clean and with a great sea view to watch all the happenings in the busy port and waterfront. The bathroom was not very efficient with the shower screen over the bath leaking water all onto the floor. Stepping in and out of the bath was extremely dangerous - we did get a mat to put in the bath which did help a bit. The housekeeping was not all up to standard with not even a glass washed or replacement tea bags left over the four days we were there. It was not all good to have a cup of tea from a paper cup - in a hotel of this standard? All in all I would say that our stay here was marred by the unfriendly and unhelpful staff. It was obvious that we weren't important enough to be greeted every day even with just a friendly smile - it seemed that the "event" that they had on was far more important. We never did get to eat in the Dining Room, so can't comment on that. We wouldn't return here.

The Savoia Excelsior Palace offers a unique and elegant experience with its timeless charm. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is excellent, walkable to almost everything and just steps away from the beach. Valet parking is available, though retrieving the car can take a little time. During our stay, only one elevator was operational, which occasionally caused delays. The lobby is absolutely stunning, and the breakfast was one of the best we've had,both in quality and variety. Our room lacked an iron and ironing board, which would have been convenient, but overall, this was a memorable and refined stay. A great choice for those who appreciate classic luxury and a prime location.

Absolutely loved this hotel. It’s been extremely well refurbished, is extremely comfortable, really well located and fantastic service. Would most definitely stay here anytime I visit Trieste. Not a doubt in my mind. Loved it!

The hotel is huge. We were upgraded to a larger room. Unfortunately it was opposite a bar with extremely loud music all afternoon until midnight. Oh well. Be careful when booking. If it says your room includes breakfast, take a screenshot. Impossible to fix when you are there. Overall a great stay aside from the above mentioned.

Gorgeous Hotel

We traveled for six weeks, and this was one of our favorite hotels. Because of my rati g with hotels.com we got an incredible upgrade to a suite. We had a balcony overlooking the sea. It was in the perfect location. It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this to travelers going to Trieste.
