As an Expedia Platinum member, I expect VIP Access properties to honour the benefits listed — but unfortunately The Burrard did not provide any of them.
They declined early check-in, late check-out, and any room upgrade, even though the hotel did not appear to be fully booked. When a property is advertised as VIP Access, these perks should be acknowledged, not dismissed.
On top of that, the property feels old, worn, and not properly cleaned. The room and common areas clearly need better maintenance and deeper cleaning to match the standards expected from a VIP-designated hotel.
Expedia should really review this listing. If a hotel chooses to be featured as a VIP Access partner, they should actually honour the benefits — or they should be removed from the VIP program altogether to avoid misleading Platinum members.
Overall, the stay was disappointing and did not reflect the quality expected from a VIP Access property.
