Most of the staff were very nice but this morning a housekeeping lady barged into my room without knocking not once but twice in the space of ten minutes while myself and my partner were undressed. Do you not know which rooms are occupied? How can you let that happen twice in one morning? It was very uncomfortable. This was the only unpleasant thing about our stay.

Firstly I want to say that the reception staff was amazing and very helpful and cannot fault them at all. This place is located right next to a metro station which is convenient but it’s in a horrible area. The hotel would also be a lot better if it had some sound proofing, you could hear everything from the next room, doors slamming from the corridor, cleaners up at the earliest time I’ve ever experienced banging the hoover into all the walls and furniture even the patio doors leak so much sound with the bin men taking the bins at around 5am most mornings waking us up. I’m sure they would of accommodated us to another room if we asked but we already unpacked everything so left it. It seemed to have such a creepy aura in there, even ignoring the the abandoned building across from our balcony. I always felt uneasy, maybe it was me just being on edge from being able to hear every sound and movement in that place but I was having terrible sleep and terrible dreams. But after seeing someone else’s review about a hole in the wall with leading to a dark empty room, I’m creeped out even more lol. My partner told me she felt the exact same after I explained how I felt in this place.

Our Front Desk staff would have gladly allocated you into a different room to ensure your most comfortable accommodation and proceed with making recommendations to the sources of noise, should they had been provided with the opportunity while you were still at the property. Concerning your remark about noise coming from the Housekeeping staff, we would like to let you know that we have already communicated this comment to the respective Department Manager, in order to proceed with all necessary staff consultations.We are really sorry to know you have felt uneasy during your stay in the hotel. With regards to the area, you may appreciate that the hotel’s location is not something that can be controlled at by the hotel itself. Every big city offers a large variety of buildings, monuments, areas, businesses, night clubs, restaurants and even stand-alone buildings all mixed in every area and suburb without a specific form or control. We would also like to address your reference to another review and let you know that there is no room in the hotel that has a hole leading to another dark room. The original reviewer was most likely speaking about a small window located in the bathroom of some of the rooms, used for ventilation purposes by our Housekeeping staff, that is locked.On the other hand, we are very glad to receive positive feedback about the convenient location and our staff members, that always go the extra mile, in order to accommodate all of our guests requests.We thank you for your time and we wish you all the best for the future.Best Regards,

Booked this hotel as it was very near the subway station and lo it was a very convenient place to stay with plenty of restaurants around and very near to the Athens shopping high street. I had booked a city view room and they upgraded me to a superior room with Acropolis view and also overlooking into the square in front of the hotel. Many thanks for that. Breakfast was very good with subtle changes in the dishes everyday. If interested in fitness there is a well equipped gym and a rooftop swimming pool which I wanted to use but didn’t as I used to leave early and reach back home late. Rooms are neat and tidy, cleaned everyday. Reception staff are helpful and always ready to help. Will surely stay there if I visit again. Will do as I have plenty of things to do and see in Athens. The Stanley 🙏 Thanks
