Goed verblijf in een gezellig huis op een zeer goede locatie. Het huis mag misschien een beetje opgefrist worden maar verder was alles aanwezig wat nodig was.
Great location in Cambridge, close to transit and walkable restaurants - 10mins uber to Fenway, too. Host was responsive to our questions, and the downstairs neighbor was really friendly. The host might want to look at upgrading the mattresses at some point, but everything was perfectly clean and our intent here is just to provide honest feedback. We would stay here again if we were ever back in Boston.
This was a great place to stay with a handful of work colleagues, all in town for a professional event. Loved the location, within walking distance to lots of fun restaurants. Place was super clean and easy to access. Thanks!
Great location⊠Easy to get to venues and historical locations. Our family was interested in. This VRBO worked well to support our families activities.
Location is good and the host is easy to reach and communicate with. Needs a couple of minor improvements:1. AC in the main floor BR & LR.2. Include wash cloths and upgrade towels.3. Add shade on skylight on top floor BR.
The accuracy of this listing was correct. There are some steep stairs going to the 2nd floor. The main living space has enough room to seat 6 comfortably and there is also a large ottoman.
The floors are hardwood, tile and laminate and can be a little slippery at times when wearing socks. The main room and large main level bedroom also have a rug in the center.
The large bedroom which has 2 queen beds is a great space for a family. The beds were fairly comfortable and the bedding was good. There was one extra pillow and one extra blanket. Two of the windows had curtains that blocked the light somewhat and one did not. All three windows had blinds, but they are not light-blocking, so if you need it very dark, this bedroom would not be for you.
The stairs to the third floor are all wood and when traversing them, care is needed. The small bathroom on level 3 was useful for the two upper level bedrooms. The double beds were comfortable. There is a sky light in one of the bedrooms which is not covered, so this room can be very bright in the morning. The laundry is also located on the third floor.
The kitchen is very small, but useful. However, there are no baking sheets--only pots and pans, so adjust your plans accordingly.
The main floor bathroom was quite large and the tub/shower combo worked great. Plenty of hot water and pressure. Lots of good towels
Since were visited in March, we used the heat and it was very responsive, quickly heating the place.
The unit is in a great location and we were able to take subway and Uber without any issueâs. The unit is old and has unlevel flooring. We tripped several times the first day. Once we became aware of the spots to avoid we we fine.
Pros: The location was very good for us. Close to restaurants and grocery stores and Mass Ave. Good for 6 adults. A Blue Bike station is across the street.
Cons: stairs are steep, treacherous for elderly. The back of the house slopes down, broken kitchen tiles, bathroom floors need repair,, bathroom ceiling is peeling a lot. Beds are hard and could use new bedding.
We had such a good time seeing Boston and the greater Boston area for a week. This Cambridge apartment gets 5 stars for location, parking, warm decor, and historical features. I took off one star overall because we wished for some simple improvements including ice trays, better pillows and bed linens, new mattresses especially upstairs, and better cups and glasses. Just needs a few things refreshed.
While the property was pretty clean, the overall impression left quite a bit to be desired. Tiles missing on the upstairs bathroom floor, massive paint peeling over the shower, missing baseboard and bathroom wall base areas... only provided with (2) bath towels, no hand towels or washcloths for (5) people. Missing detailed entrance instructions - you need to enter the main door after entering the combination, then head upstairs where you unlock the apartment door. We are used to classy VRBO stays where the beds are made with beautiful comforters, extra pillows, extra blankets, drink coasters and alarm clocks, well-built or antique furniture, towel sets for each person, and other special touches... unfortunately, none of that was evident. The outside was grungy, weedy, and completely unkempt. The home itself has a ton of character and potential, just on overall air of neglect..
Pros: location, number of beds, the one full bath was clean.
Cons: all furniture except television is like something you would pick up from a curb. Very old. Not a comfortable chair in the house. Beds have thin mattresses; OLD polyester blend sheets and comforters; towels were old and stained; carpet is stained; dishwasher would not open; glasses in the cabinet stuck to the shelf; the lamps and lighting in the bedrooms were extremely dim and old, there was not a window covering on one of the upstairs bedrooms; no bath mat or kitchen hand towels; no local information about restaurants, transportation or things to do
I guess if you are only considering number of beds and location in Cambridge for a low price, you might be happy, but this was truly the worst VRBO place any of us had ever stayed. I hate to be harsh but I wish I had had more information before I booked.
The location of this apartment for ease of walking around Cambridge and catching the T into/out of Boston was excellent, and the parking spot was a great bonus! The apartment itself was a bit dated and in need of a few (very minor) repairs, but it was clean and quiet and accommodated 5 people comfortably.
The location was perfect for us: easy walking to restaurants, great ice cream. It's close to Kendall Square, a plus for us, and we walked down to the river comfortably. Our kids enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms. Another big bonus: parking! That can be hard to come by in Cambridge.
