7 of us booked two family rooms of 4 for 2 nights. (Youngest of us is 7 oldest is 53) I didn’t know what to expect after reading the reviews, but we were all happy with everything. The beds were clean and nicely done, the bathrooms were clean. One of them didn’t smell the best, but it was understandable as there are no windows and the extractor fan wasn’t working either. We didn’t mind it though. There were tvs in the rooms as well as books to read. The floor (4th) was easily accessible by stairs or by lifts. Our floor wasn’t loud at all. The area is nice, and we walked to every place we visited as its in the centre. We used the bar to drink a coffee one morning, that was delicious, but we didn’t use the arcade or karaoke at all as it was too busy and we were not interested anyway.
Absolutely amazing stay staff where friendly food was Delicious only complaint was the morriti tasted stale but i didnt let that ruin a good overall experience
Not all hostels are the same or ran the same. The condition of the room and property overall looked shabby and in need of some renovations. The bathroom really was not in the best condition. While there was heat, there wasn't much for air vents so no air circulation. Could not control the temp in room and it got stuffy. We were able to open the windows which allowed us to get some air flow. I did like that you could book a room (6 person- 3 bunkbeds) with it's own shower/toilet that was a bonus. This property had a bar/club with it so it is good for those seeking that kind of social experience. I would have preferred to have more security features that I have had from other hostels such as deadbolt for room and making each floor accessible only by key to keep out non registered guests from accessing floors. I traveled with my 3 kids (21, 19, 15). I would not recommend this property to family with younger kids again due to the bar/club atmosphere. There was a level below the bar which had foosball table, couple pool tables, and table tennis plus tables to play cards. Staff were available and friendly.
They try to squeeze money out of you in every possible way (towels, hair dryer). Rooms are cold with no working radiator. Floor was dirty. Absolutely no cooking facilities and food not allowed in rooms. Security act like cops and wouldn’t let our friends in on NYE. However, beds were comfortable and the staff friendly.
I stayed in a 6 bunk hostel room. Accommodation was average but the main bar and eating area were good , as was the breakfast. Neat location really, with good access by tram and trendy restaurants and cinema over the road. As with most things in Dublin, this seemed rather expensive to me - about double compared to Madrid and Barcelona. Common areas didn’t have much seating and it wasn’t somewhere to snooze.
