This was one of our favorite stays in New Zealand. The setting was great - right across from the (amazing and free) Glowworm Dell and walking distance to town. Also beach convenient. Hokitika was a great little town and the kind host had movies you could borrow, which was nice in the evening.
Shower definitely needs renewing. Broken shower lining at the bottom was not a good look. Stove top elements need updating. Also got woken up from a deep sleep by very noisy obviously very late arrivals, very annoying. Otherwise it was lovely.would stay again.helped the weather was nice and the sunset was stunning.
The location was great 70m to a great beach, amenities were good.
The wooden chalet looked a little dated from the outside but inside was clean comfortable and well equipped.
There was a comfortable queen sized bed, sofa and kitchenette with a good shower that remained hot.
There were chairs on the veranda (just a small point no table!)
There were Alpacas, goats, rabbits and chickens penned nearby for the kids and a 70m walk to the beach.
We only stayed one night, but found it well situated to shops and town.
Highly recommend
Nice quiet location which has direct access to the beach. It is very close to the Glowworm Dell walkway too. It is farther away from the downtown area but not too bad as the town is not very big.
