We stayed at the Carus Cappadocia for one night on our visit to the area. The hotel is built into a cave. Our room was comfortable and the service was good. The Turkish Breakfast they serve has so many choices. It was fresh and good. The hotel is close to the minaret of a mosque so you will hear the call to prayer in the morning.

We had booked a room for one night. There was no air conditioning and we were told that in the night it will only be heat mode and we could open the window if we wanted it colder. The window faced the street and we couldn’t sleep until 2ish since the people walking in thw streets were loud. We had a friend booked into another room in the same property and they had the same issues. The pictures on Expedia said the room had a terrace .. yes it did but it was a shared one and access was from outside the room. So couldn’t use it. The bathroom was very small and cramped and the toiletries were bad. Good thing we carried our own stuff. The staff was rude. We were given 4 bottles of water for one day and we asked for extra bottles at the reception the next day morning since it was so hot and we drank all the four bottles. They said they have to look and never gave us one.. we were ready to pay but they never even gave us that option. The check in time is 2 pm and our luggage never reached the room until late evening when we had to remind them. The place is walkable to nearby restaurants and shopping places which was a saving grace. Overall did not enjoy our stay as we ended up with almost no sleep.

The location was perfect and walking distance to everything and plenty of restaurants around. Although the hotel restaurant was amazing! We had such a lovely dinner. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The beds were so comfortable! I can’t rate this hotel more highly!

This hotel was honestly fantastic in every way that I can imagine. The location is perfectly central, although you could be up on top of the hill, possibly with better views. But the rooftop view, where the restaurant is located, is genuinely spectacular. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic. The service at the restaurant is so friendly, it’s almost over the top. The photos from the rooftop pool, lounges, and restaurant are world class. The room was great, with a great bed, a good bathroom, good shower. I would definitely stay here again.

Carus Cappadocia Hotel is a beautiful cave hotel in the centre of Goreme. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooftop restaurant is excellent with amazing views over the town and the geological structures. Our room had a balcony which we were able to use and sit in the sunshine. Highly recommended.

Restaurant lets the hotel down

Hotel was okay for the price, considering they’ve branded themselves as “luxury” we were expecting more. The biggest thing that lets them down is the restaurant upstairs. They play cheap music very loud, late into the night. We had a room that was far from the restaurant and still kept us up. We wanted to enjoy a Fanta on the restaurant terrace since it was connected to the hotel at around 4pm before getting ready for dinner. We were told we couldn’t order water (we had to get water from hotel reception) and was hit with a service charge on 2 soft drinks. None of this is end of the world but considering the hotel and restaurant are together, this doesn’t scream luxury! We ate in the restaurant one night and it was fine again. Very overpriced for Goreme, we had tastier meals for less. Hotel staff at reception were amazing, they were always on hand to help. Overall a pleasant stay, there were things in the room that had become tired. You could tell the hotel is 5 years old and things are starting to need updating.

We absolutely loved our stay at Carus. The location could not have been better, it is a close to all the shops and restaurants. The terraces were a highlight, with beautiful views of the hot air balloons in the morning and stunning sunsets in the evening. The staff made the experience even better, especially Fatma at breakfast. She was always warm and attentive, making sure each morning started off great.

This hotel, the staff and its location were amazing. This is a great option if you’re planning to stay in Göreme. Room was spacious, neat, clean, comfortable bed, nice city view. Breakfast buffet has a great variety of fresh and delicious options. This hotel has probably the best rooftop in all of Cappadocia with 360 degree city view and also a great location to enjoy seeing the hot balloons flying all over the city every morning. I will definitely recommend this hotel, no doubt about it. Stores and restaurants near by, walking distance 5-10 mins. I visited from Houston with my wife.
