The property ahould state what floor each room is on. We had a 3rd floor walk up! No elevator. There was glass on the floor as well. The tub is really high and my elderly mom had a hard time getting in and out. We only booked here as an emergency

This was our 3rd stay at Les Patios du Marais and the strengths still outweigh the weaknesses for me. Les Patios du Marais is situated in the Marais and so has a wide variety of central Paris within easy walking distance. We walked to the apartment from Gare du Nord in about 30 minutes and 'Arts et Metiers' metro is quite close by. The shops in the locale are good for the needs of an 'apart-hotel' user with grocers and laundry nearby. The studio apartment, E2GD 'Gold finger', was easy to find and access from the emailed information provided was straightforward. The room was clean and was well provided in terms of cooking and dining equipment. The bed was comfortable and the bedding in good order. The only issues, and they wouldn't stop me using the apartment again, were: a problem with the wi-fi connectivity (the router worked but wasn't getting an external connection, I guess this is just a temporary issue); there is a bit of a step up into the shower over the lavatory pan, which may be a bit of a challenge if you have mobility issues, we're reasonably fit and healthy mid-60's and managed; we visited in February and it was quite wet, and there is little space to hang up coats to dry off. For us the strengths are greater than the costs and I'd use the apartment again,

Most of the photos you see online show the fairy garden entrance and walkway with the lights and the foliage. That is certainly the best part. The apartment was ridiculous. It was the top floor, five flights up. Fine, we are used to climbing stairs in Paris. But when we arrived at the top, the suite was incredibly small. The living room was tiny, contained only a sofa and a kitchen chair and TV, but with no room to move about. The kitchenette was tiny but ok. The bathroom was very small, but again it is Paris, so no surprise. The surprise came with the loft bedroom. You climb up a set of stairs to get to the bedroom. As you reach the top you suddenly have to get on your hands and knees and crawl under a roof support beam to reach the bed. You crawl, trying not to hit your head on the beam (you will, often), then you sort of slither up to your bed. You can’t sit up in bed, as the roof is right above you. The bed is actually pretty comfortable, as long as you don’t sit up in the night and whack your head. Now, getting to bed is hard. Getting out of bed and down the stairs is harder. The bed takes up the entire loft, so to go down you have to carefully crawl over your bedmate, get on your knees and go backwards under the beam and down the stairs. I complained to the property. They said I should have known what I was getting with all the pictures online. There are no pictures of the top floor loft, so not a good argument. The other apartments look nice, but ours was awful.

BEWARE: photos of the property are a lie. The property is rundown, filthy, and uncomfortable. Based on the surprisingly positive reviews on Expedia.com, I was enchanted by the quaint photos of LPDM, as well as its location. I was fooled to think I’d have a charming private apt. with the peace of mind of a managed property. However, management of LPDM is an email-driven mechanism of monetization, nothing else. I paid for a cute studio apartment: as per photos, it featured a double bed and a pullout in the same space, a small balcony, and ample space to move around comfortably. Also, per photos, I expected a decent bathroom. Our unit didn’t have the capacity to house 3 people humanely for 9 days. It felt like squatting. Suffering on a squeaky pull out, storing our luggage on Day 1 & wandering around for 4 hours in 30 degree weather on zero sleep, enduring noise all night due to paper-thin walls, and washing towels every day because there’s no housekeeping, no matter how long you stay, made for a miserable experience. I’m a seasoned traveler but was duped by the deceit and opacity of the description. A loft is not a studio. When I wasn’t tossing all night because of the “bed,” I was worrying my 14-year-old son would break his neck going down the stairs which were a glorified ladder. LPDM should banned until it delivers on its promises and offers a clean, updated, accurately described product and treats clients fairly. Stay away from LPDM! There are better options in Le Marais

Aesthetically pleasing, within a secure complex, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, Patios du Marais is located within walking distance of major attractions such as the Louvre and Notre Dame.
