I have a love for Rome but I did not want to stay too close to the centre. Hotel Villa San Lorenzo Maria provided the perfect balance for my needs, as it was very close to transport links to the Vatican City, but removed enough that I could step back from the intensity of being too central. I was also able to walk to Vatican City which is about an hour and 20 minutes on foot at a leisurely pace, and I would recommend this to any traveller at least once, as there is so much to see along the way to break the journey up, that you might miss if you took the metro or the tram. I have seen some amazing gems this way! What I did not expect during my stay was the warmth and welcome that I received immediately upon arrival from the staff, which lasted throughout my stay there. I was travelling as a solo female, and was unsure what to expect, but I was assured that despite the appearance of the local area, the district was both safe and friendly, and they were absolutely right. I did not feel concerned about hassle or dangers at any time and Rome in general was just very welcoming. I had a lovely room, which was cleaned daily, with clean bedding and towels changed, and they served lovely pizza from their bar area. One unique and very nice touch was the complimentary smart phone they provide to each room, which has a free data plan and is amazingly handy for google maps, and suggesting places near you to take a look at. I can't wait to return. Bellissima

Stayed 2 nights. Staff very helpful and breakfast good. Had a smart phone to use as a map in room free to use which was great for getting around Rome

Style and comfort near Termini

Pros: Everything
Location: Close to the tramway to go very easily and quickly to the center of Roma
Excellent stay in an oasis of beauty and quietness, friendly and helpful staff, nice decoration of the room, great breakfast in the garden under the palm trees

alte römische Villa, umgebaut in den 60er Jahren, sehr geschmackvoll und zeitgemäss eingerichtet. Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Hotel zentral gelegen, 5 Minuten auf Tram, 15 Minuten bis Bahnhof. Ideal und angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Le personnel a été irréprochable, d’une grande amabilité. La propriété est particulièrement chaleureuse et fidèle au style italien, ce qui nous a charmé encore plus étant donné que ce n’etait pas un hôtel comme on en trouverait n’importe où. Authentique est le mot qui décrirait le plus l’etablissement. Il était également très bien situé. À 15 minutes en transport du centre ville. De plus, un parking est disponible pour y garer sa voiture. Il y a des petits supermarchés aussi un peu partout dans les alentours. Néanmoins,les deux seuls petits hics seraient la salle et le système d’aération de celle ci et de la chambre. Il faisait un peu trop chaud et il n’y avait pas trop d’air qui tournait dans la SDB. Cependant, si je reviens à Rome j’y retournerai sans hésiter une seule seconde! Un séjour qui nous a très fortement plu pour une première fois en Italie. Merci à l’etablissement et à son personnel!
