Just the escape we needed from the Metro DC area for a long weekend. Got to enjoy some nice food in the area. Conveniently located to Sperryville, Little Washington, Culpepper. I think we spent an entire day just lounging next to the wood burning fireplace, reading and napping. Donât know when we last got to do that. Loved waking up to rooster sounds, meeting all the goats, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. we had our two large dogs with us, who both had a blast playing in the river at the edge of the property. Ben and Hong were so friendly and welcoming - blessed us with some delicious homemade zucchini bread and fresh farm eggs. Oh and the homemade beef jerkyâŠ.wow.
Clean, lovely, restful, wonderful. The hosts take such pride in their property and farm. They are thoughtful, kind, and attentive. The lodging itself is lovely. Quiet - except for the sounds of the coyotes! Too many stars too count. Cannot wait to book again as soon as possible.
My husband, 2 dogs, and I stayed over Halloween weekend for our anniversary. The guest house was cozy, clean, and plenty spacious for all 4 of us! We checked in late, so in the morning, we meandered around the property and caught up with Ben & Hong. They stopped mending their fences so they could give us a tour! The property is beautiful. There is a bench down by the river that would make for a great swimming spot in the summer, and they have so many birds: chicken, turkey, geese, & guinea fowl. They even set up a fire for us at the top of the hill. We were there on a cloudy night but on a clear night this location is prime for stargazing. We will definitely be returning! Their location is also close to so many activities: Shenandoah Park hiking & downtown Culpeper for some "city" experience
What a wonderful restful weekend! We stayed with Ben and Hong in their cottage on the farm. It was very nice to get away from the busy every day and have the kids enjoy the farm animals and especially gather their own eggs! It was very clean and comfortable with everything available to make your stay easygoing! We took Hongs recommendation and hiked to Mary's Rock in Shenandoah on the way home. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for a memorable weekend!
This little cottage has it all. Charm, romance, delightful setting complete with hens and fresh eggs. The owners brought us homemade pumpkin bread and gave us a tour of the farm. Sperryville and Shenandoah National Park are nearby, and the surrounding region is stunning and secluded. Perfect weekend!
Courtesies received: We were notified that could could arrive early, as there had not been a prior booking the day before. Upon arrival, a very warm-hearted tour of the inspiring property and animals was given by the whole family. We desperately needed a place of repose, beauty and inspiration after a difficult week. This was it! The sounds of nature, the beauty of the open field and autumn moon at night was spectacular. Also received a most delicious organic squash bread and made breakfast made breakfast with the fresh laid eggs from the variety of chickens. Who could ask for more. We are so grateful!
Ben, Hong, and their kids are fantastic hosts. Their guest house is a perfect place to get away from it all. We used it as home base for a long weekend hiking Shenandoah National Park, about 20 miles away. While on the property, we walked the farm with our dog, enjoyed a campfire dinner on the hillside overlooking the field and stream, and interacted with the free-range animals that call the farm home. The fresh eggs in the morning were an awesome perk. Hong even made us some zucchini bread, which was fantastic. I don't think we could say enough good things about our time there or our hosts. We will definitely visit again.
