The cabin was beautiful and located in a remote and serene setting. It comfortably slept our family of five. The hot tub and fire pit were definitely highlights after long days of hiking. There is not much to the town of Beattyville so be prepared to drive 20 to 30 minutes to some great local eateries and hiking spots. The Bear Track convenience shop located at the end of the road had everything we needed in a pinch. When we arrived, we could not get in. We also discovered that the grill and downstairs lights did not work, but a maintenance man came out the next day to remedy those items. The downside of this home is that the kitchen is minimally stocked. We were only provided with three dishwasher tabs for five days and did not have enough dishware or utensils or glasses. Bring all ingredients needed to make a meal as there are no supplies in the cabinets. Paper plates, cups, napkins, tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels are suggested! The house was definitely lacking in welcoming amenities.
