Ideal location for Alhambra Theatre. Very reasonably priced. Room was clean, modern and comfortable bed.
Only slight complaint, corridor to room was stiflingly hot. No a/c in the room only a small fan. Unable to open the window for fresh air.
But will be back.
Bathroom smelled a little gross, possibly smoke but hard to tell as it was mixed with generic hotel bathroom smell. Room itself was perfectly fine, as was the rest of the hotel. Included breakfast was incredibly good value, and the full English/Scottish breakfast In particular was very tasty. 10 minute walk to the station and 3 minute walk to Tesco. Lovely area (a bit noisy on Friday/Saturday nights but not too bad).
We had a lovely clean room with a super king size bed. Both the breakfast and lunch were superb with good choices on the menu, reasonable priced. Staff were curtious and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Booked a king size room given a twin room and reception were unable unwilling and quite frankly rude when i requested a move. 7-9 for breakfast is ridiculous. Hotel door and bar closed when we returned at 2215 Its almost like the hotel is here for the convenience of the staff rather than the guests.
Single room was small but clean and delighted to find a bath and not just shower. Very central location. Breakfast was good. Good value for price paid. Friendly staff. Would stay again if back in area.
This was a last minute booking because I had to be in the Edinburgh area a day earlier due to a storm hitting the north part of Scotland. It was very affordable and easy to get to from Waverly Station by train (although the walk to the hotel is mostly uphill from the station). I had a meal at the hotel restaurant on the day I checked in, and it was very delicious and reasonably priced, and the included breakfast was great. Also there was a supermarket a short walk away for snacks. The only negative about the room was that I found the shower doors were very narrow, so it took a bit of effort to go in and out, but nothing that would prevent me from staying here again!
System was hacked & had to put a stop on my debit card & as yet received no actual apology & just told it was not the city hotels fault. However, the breakfast was lovely, staff & service good. Been assured the hackers do not have my personal details??? Not very happy with the situation
We stayed here for our daughter’s wedding and found the hotel to be clean and the staff to be friendly and helpful. It’s very close to the City Chambers and the Glen which is beautiful for photographs.
