"Das Gebäude zeigt hier und da sein Alter, befindet sich aber insgesamt in gutem und gepflegtem Zustand.
Das Personal fiel uns unterschiedlich auf: Während viele Mitarbeiter herzlich, professionell und serviceorientiert agierten, gab es auch einzelne Ausnahmen. So mussten wir z. B. im Lobbybereich selbst darauf hinweisen, dass ein Getränkeservice beim Speisen nicht angeboten wurde – was in einem Haus dieser Kategorie eher ungewöhnlich ist.
Der Gartenbereich wird aktuell teilweise renoviert. Schön zu wissen für alle, die dort Ruhe suchen. Leider war auch der Pool-Barbereich für uns Erwachsenen nicht nutzbar: Trotz später Stunde (21:00 Uhr) war der Lärmpegel durch spielende Kinder sehr hoch. Erst nach einem Gespräch mit der Rezeption wurde uns als Ausweichmöglichkeit der Wellnessbereich mit Salzwasserbecken gezeigt – ein ruhiger, gelungener Rückzugsort.
Das kulinarische Highlight war zweifellos das 16 Roof Restaurant: erstklassige Küche, stilvoll angerichtet, mit spektakulärem Bosporusblick – hier zeigt sich das Hotel von seiner besten Seite.
Fazit: Das Swissôtel bietet viel – großzügige Räume, traumhafte Aussicht, Spitzenküche. Doch kleine Schwächen im Service und Nutzungskonflikte zwischen Familien- und Erholungsgästen zeigen, dass es noch Luft nach oben gibt. Wer das klassische Istanbul-Flair mit einem Hauch Luxus erleben will, ist hier dennoch gut aufgehoben."
