Very cosy and quiet spot. The hot pools are very nice to relax, thereâs a wonderful and easy round hike (8km) starting from the property over the canyon / waterfalls. You can get dinner and breakfast there if needed.
Northern lights can also be observed from there.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
My worst experience in Iceland by far
One thing that surprises me is that there is no warning of which route to take to get there. Coming from the west, our GPS took us through the highlands which was a 3 hour unpaved dangerous experience. I don't blame the hotel for these roads, but it should be out there for someone to see.
Because we were trapped in the highlands with no service, we arrived two hours later than we informed the host. The man who greeted us, I believe it was Albricht was incredibly rude.
When I walked into reception he said "Can I teach you something?" and walked me to the foyer to show me where to leave my shoes. He said "is this something you can understand?" I thought it was rude but maybe just a language barrier.
He continued to make me and my friends feel unwelcome because we arrived late. When I explained why we were late he said "You have a phone, you could have called us" even though I explained we had no service because we were trapped in the highlands.
When I asked about laundry he pretended he didn't understand what I was saying and then said they don't have washing machines. When I checked the booking and saw that there was in fact laundry I went back and asked he said curtly, "look at the time, you are too late".
It's a shame bc I met Olga the next day and she was really so sweet. We were already so exhausted from the stressful travel if we had just been greeted respectfully it would have made such a difference. Instead it was by far our worst experience in Iceland.
Loved the hot springs on site right next to the place. Staff was very friendly. Didn't like the strict check-in times because we were running late we almost couldn't check in but it all worked out and we should have planned better. Nice breakfast in the morning and everyone working were very friendly. Thanks for that.
Hosts were very nice and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. There was a beautiful hike to three large waterfalls right in their backyard and the two hot pools were perfect for relaxing after the excursion.
spotlessly clean and managed with the utmost hospitality, we greatly enjoyed our stay here.
The staff, especially Olga where so friendly, knowledgable about the area and welcoming.
The rooms and bathrooms are immaculate and cozy and the hot springs divine!
We wanted a reasonable clean place with natural surroundings. Although there's not much around it, that's exactly what we were looking for. The paid breakfast option is highly recommended
Didn't show up as correct in GPS, it's actually listed under a different name, it's on top of a mountain (literally) so difficult to get through but once you get up there it's worth it! Weather was terrible when we went but their hot pools made it better(except when we had to get out)! Everything was clean and everyone was so nice and ready to help out! They have some nature trails, sadly didn't get to take those, but if we didn't have such little room for adjustments in our travels we would have DEFINITELY stayed another night!
The accommodations were great, the staff was helpful, and the rooms clean. The hiking trail near the building wasn't that bad but not well kept, although the trail was nicely marked. The hot springs were nice although there was a lot of algae forming and the tubs weren't as hot as i would have liked it.
Excellent stay if you are an outdoor person. Very remote location, good for hiking and outdoor exploration. Hotel is new and very clean. Remember that you have to tell the host if you want to have dinner, they make food only on request. Breakfast is very good, and as always in Iceland coffee is great.
