Disappointing Stay

We knew that there was no air conditioning and had the understanding that we could open the door to allow the pacific breeze into the room. However, we were given a first floor room right by the entrance to the beach. We could see people going to and from the beach. We were not comfortable leaving our sliding door open for safety reasons. We asked to be moved up a floor. The front desk attendant was very rude. We were told that if we weren't comfortable opening our sliding door, that we should keep our hotel door open into the hallway. How does that make sense? We were also told that the hotel was completely sold out and there were no other rooms available. It was clear that the hotel was not full. Also, the bathroom sink did not drain. And, we had to stand on the bed to pull the ceiling fan chain to turn it on. That was a dangerous endeavor. It was a very disappointing stay.

Wonderful ocean view -as expected. We found the layout of room as expected, but the room was not properly cleaned. There was an earwig insect in the bed sheets -quite disturbing. The internet, which was supposed to work, did not function at all. Is this an Ocean Shores problem or just this hotel? It would have been better to be honest about the lack of internet connectivity that to offer it and it never worked. Staff was not very friendly or available. For the money spent, it was not worth it. We will likely stay somewhere else if we return to Ocean Shores.

Location Matters

This hotel was clean, the room large and in good repair except for a little fray in the edge of the carpet, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was good and plentiful. I would just suggest that you opt for an ocean view room on a floor higher than the second floor. We reserved a partial ocean view room and were given a dunes view on the second floor. Pet friendly rooms are on the first floor, so when you open the door on the second floor to enjoy the ocean air, if you are right above the pet area above the dunes, that ocean air is mixed with the pungent scent of dog urine. The dogs bark during the night as well, and it can disrupt your sleep. On a higher floor, on the ocean side of the hotel would have made for a lovely stay, I think. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I did not complain about the smell or the noise, but I think they know. Now you do, too! I would stay there again, but will be requesting a higher floor, facing the ocean.

Best breakfast!

This hotel was an EXCELLENT value for our money. We have been going to Ocean Shores for many years and stayed at a variety of hotels and condos, and this one is now our favorite! Our room was very large, we loved the pool and sauna, but I think our favorite thing had to be the incredible free breakfast! Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffles, yogurt, cereal, bagels, fruit, etc. We will be coimng back here next year.

Fantastic Ocean View.

Great view - I will say that, breakfast is good but not a lot of variety, and check-in is about as slow as can be, well past the "4:00" check in stated. ONE BIG THING = THERE IS NO INTERNET, the employee's will tell you there is - give you non-working logins / passwords, and even LIE to you telling you there is... but it's all a RUSE / they don't have internet. Whether they're too cheap to pay for all the rooms or what not I can't say. Not the staff's fault to have to cover for ownership... So - that being said, would I stay here again <> yes absolutely ! WHY ? ~ Because it is about the best / closest VIEW of the ocean you'll get anywhere along the coast. Beach access is right there

I paid for a room with a full ocean view and had a view of the bushes. I should have said something to staff while there but just decided I won’t go back. Don’t advertise a full ocean view and charge extra when it’s just a partial view!!!

The hotel is in a very convenient place at the beginning of ocean shores. It's nice and quiet there. The hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown ocean shores. The hotel is one of the least expensive hotels at Ocean shores. I'm guessing the reason for this is because things like the hot tub does not work, one of the doors to get into the hotel had a note on it saying you had to pull the doors apart and push them together when entering. The doors are supposed to be automatic. The elevator was broken and after making our way through the Maze of the hotel from that end we finally found the elevator we needed. There was only one ice machine that worked for all four floors, and that machine was empty most of the time. This place needs a lot of help and is starting to look ran down despite the new coat of paint thrown on the walls. But if you don't care about Aesthetics it is nice for the pocketbook and quiet.

Very nice hotel with a very reasonable price. Rooms were very spacious and the ocean view from the balcony was amazing! Very friendly staff, made you feel that you were really appreciated for staying at their hotel. We will definitely be staying here again at our next visit to Ocean Shores. The free breakfast was more than we expected.

My wife and I love this place! It’s a great place to stay to get away for awhile. The beach is right next to it and you’ll even find horseback riding there (not through the hotel). You can climb to the top of the lighthouse and see a great view. The rooms are excellent, and the staff are very helpful, respectful and kind.

Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly. Once we got to our room, we unpacked and got ready for the night. The first thing we noticed was the door would not fully close unless you pulled rather hard and slam it closed. Creating a loud noise. *When I would leave to let our pup out early, the noise from the door would wake her.* Once we got back from our night out we decided to use the jetted tub. Which was a very bad decision. The tub was very dirty and the jets shot out brown foam and mucus from previous stays. Being absolutely disgusted, we took a shower. And that tub would not drain. Needless to say, our amazing night out turned into a frustrating stay in.

The setting is beautiful with easy access to the beach and ocean views. The person managing the morning breakfast set-up was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The public areas were neat and clean but the ice machine on our floor was out of order, and so was the hotel's hot tub. After looking at other reviews, apparently that has been the case for several months. We were traveling with another couple and at check-in asked if we could be assigned rooms on the same floor, but we were told that rooms were already assigned and couldn't be changed because we had booked the room through a third party. We were told if we had booked directly with the hotel, they could have changed the rooms, which makes no sense, but that was the only explanation we were given. The room was large and comfortable, but there were housekeeping and maintenance issues, such as burnt-out lightbulbs, and the ceiling fan was filthy. If you like soft, clean towels, this is absolutely not the hotel for you. The towels were horrible. They were small, dingy, and as rough as sandpaper. We won't stay at this hotel in the future because of the attitude at check-in regarding booking the room through Experian.
