One of the reception folks was not friendly. Our room was disappointingly dirty. The floor had not been cleaned. It was obvious that that had been overlooked. There was hair and little bits of paper on the floor in the bathroom. The overhead light did not work in the sitting area. I would expect this at a less prestigious hotel, but not out at La Fonda.

My first time here but I'll be back! Excellent location with easy parking (hard to find for Santa Fe). Dog friendly (my standard poodle Nero was a hit with staff and other guests). My son and I ate in the lobby bar and had excellent food and the best Margarita I've ever had. Highly recommended place to stay!

Expedia needs to make it plainer about the $30/day parking fee. Had we known, we would have not chosen this property. And La Fonda rents out parking spaces to non-guests. We left the parking deck to go out to Bandelier only to find no parking available when we returned. We circled the deck waiting for someone to leave. A space opened up, but unfortunately our car was damaged as we tried to squeeze beside a pole. We now have a $2000 bill to repair our car. The staff was not very sympathetic. There was nowhere nearby to park because of an event on the plaza, so we left a night early. The least that could be done is to refund the night we left early. A hotel with onsite parking should not rent out spaces to non-guests leaving the paying guests with nowhere to park.
