So disappointing for five star expectations. Dinner at rooftop restaurant, I had to endure two sources of very loud music. The restaurant manager did nothing about it. And the waiter service was substandard and did not come around and asked me how the food was or if I needed anything while I was eating. The door to my hotel room is terrible. Who designed the opening mechanism? The rooftop pool had a menu which was not available, really?? You do not deserve five stars I drop you down to three stars you need to raise your game thank you.

Marketed as a 5-star property, St George Lycabettus falls short of expectations and feels more in line with a 4-star rating. While its location in the upscale Kolonaki area is considered prestigious by locals, the surrounding neighbourhood still bears the marks of overbuilding and urban congestion. The hotel sits on a steep hill, which adds to the views but not to the convenience. The property has a storied past with celebrity guests in its heyday, though it no longer exudes the glamour that would attract today’s A-listers. Prices are high across the board and not matched by the quality offered. The highlight is undoubtedly the view—sweeping cityscapes and the Acropolis in sight—but many other hotels in Athens now offer similar rooftop experiences. Dining is a mixed bag: while some dishes are excellent, alcohol in particular is overpriced, with branded champagne around €185-200 a bottle. Rooms are comfortable and include amenities like Nespresso pods and decent soundproofing, but they lack the refinement expected of a true 5-star stay. Bathrooms feel dated, and the showerhead is unnecessarily complicated. Breakfast is underwhelming: no fresh juices or quality cold cuts, and overall quality feels mass-market rather than premium. Staff are helpful and courteous, but service alone doesn’t justify the premium pricing. Ultimately, this hotel offers a nice spot for a cocktail at sunset, but for accommodations, better options exist with superior amenities and better price.

Very nice hotel, we had one of the less expensive rooms which face to an inner courtyard but this was a benefit as it was very quiet and no direct sunlight.
