I have stayed at South Point for various conferences in the past, and was glad to see it was still an affordable alternative to the strip, with some of the best check-in (3PM) and check-out (12PM) hours. Great option if you've come to town with your own transportation. I also really appreciate that the WiFi is simply available, without passwords or device limits. The pools/hot tubs are great, though I wish they stayed open past 8PM. The room was spacious, and surprisingly quiet. Tip: there are stairs, but located a distance from the elevators, and unlabeled. Will definitely keep this on the short list for visits to Vegas.

If you arrive even minutes before 2pm check in, they will charge $25 to check you in even if they have rooms available. They make you wait until 2 pm or charge you $25. Beware of 3rd floor rooms, outside your window is the employee outside lounge area and they can be quite loud at all hours of the day with dragging heaters and outdoor furniture around to arrange and rearrange where they sit on their break

It was just OK for the price. The food was mediocre, but what I needed at the time as I was nursing a hangover. The first room I went into was not very clean. There was some stuff on the carpet, but they quickly moved me to another room and I was satisfied.
