Great place to stay right in the center of all activity along the water. Hotel is wonderful and the STAFF IS SUPERB! Pedro gave us a great walking plan for each day and booked us exceptional dinner choices. Thanks much Pedro. The breakfast is first class with a tremendous variety, from eggs and pastries to local ham/cheese and sparkling wine. Special thanks to Hugo…he heard us talking to a neighboring table that it was our anniversary and he brought over a small cake with a candle….and two lovely glasses of port. I guess that’s ok for breakfast in Porto! What a lovely gesture You won’t do much better. Great location, staff and food!

Our stay was 2 nights. The staff was very helpful for us as we spoke no Portuguese and only a few phrases of Spanish. They greeted us with complimentary Port wine upon arrival. Our room was clean, comfortable and properly AC’d with a king bed as requested. The staff arranged for our train to Lisbon. Breakfast was fantastic. The staff recd 2 restaurants. ODE was premier dining in a quiet atmosphere by the river. Don Antonio was nearby and more typical Portuguese fare but well done.

The hotel is in an excellent location for walking to nearby sites. Porto is extremely hilly and being right in the riverfront provides easy access to the river boat rides, the ferry, the pedestrian bridge across the river and lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast is fantastic. Hugo in the dining room went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and pampered. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. My only suggestion is the rooms could do with an update in decor but that is only my opinion the decor didn’t take away from the comfort of the room. Oh and the best AC we have ever encountered anywhere in Europe!

Fantastic riverside location. We had spacious room with lovely view. Food fine without being anything special. Bathroom three star, and shower was merely a shower extension which slotted into wall at head height above bath: shot water horizontally!

My favorite hotel! We were welcomed by the most wonderful staff. They provided us with a complimentary glass of port and then provided a quick tour of the property after check in. This property is conveniently located with amazing views of the river. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. I will only stay here on my trips to Porto.

A charming hotel in the heart of the tourist district in Porto. That being said, it's a 5-star hotel that is definitely riding the 'legacy' of being a 5-star hotel as the rooms and overall property are quite dated. The breakfast buffet is also pretty mediocre. Overall, don't know that I'd book it again.
