The resort set up is very beautiful a the grounds are amazing. The gym and the spa both excellent. The concierge wasn’t great at all. The food is not amazing. Only 4 restaurants and a few days two of them were closed. Ridiculous fo a resort. Sometimes you needed a reservation and sometimes you didn’t. Very confusing. The food at the restaurants were average at best. The employees and staff all so incredibly helpful an friendly. We’ve stayed at the Iberostar there and the food was so much better. They really need more places to eat and better food.

Beautiful Room, fantastic friendly Staff. Food wasn’t great and the entertainment left a lot to be desired. The beach was closed due to excessive seaweed, so we received a great upgrade to a bungalow on the beach. Overall it was a lovely hotel with nice pools to relax around and great staff. Pity the bland food didn’t match the service.

Property was outdated. Pictures shown on Expedia must have been taken when the property was first built. Staff was friendly, but seemed to be under trained. With the exception of one restaurant, the food was just OK. The location of resort is beautiful. We stayed in the villa which was oceanfront and it was wonderful to listen to the waves all night long and with the sunrise coming in through the window. As for being all inclusive, it felt like they offered bottom of the line, food and beverages and have a lot of options to upsell you on, which is not the experience that I’m looking for in an all-inclusive resort. There are definitely better all inclusive options for the money that they charge.

The resort was wonderful. My favorite part was how clean everything was. Housekeeping not only cleaned well but every day they would come by later in the evening and ask if we needed any towels, etc. The food was also good. 5 different restaurants where you can dine but be aware you have to make reservations for two of them. The staff were great too! Amazing service and friendliness! Overall good place if you are looking for a chill and relaxing place to spend your vacation. As the property isn’t very big and the beach is very small too.

Our stay was absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end. The room was immaculate, the food and drinks were exceptional, and the ambiance throughout the property was nothing short of perfect. We truly couldn’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. But what truly elevated our experience was the outstanding wait staff. The service was warm, attentive, and consistently above and beyond. A special thank-you to Super Yery, Ricardo, Emilio, and Alejandro at Wok, Felix at Capriccio, Omar and Natasha at the pool, and Jarol at the disco. Each of them brought genuine kindness, professionalism, and personality to every interaction, making our stay unforgettable. We left feeling incredibly grateful and already excited to return. I would have gladly rated this resort a full 10/10, but a few operational gaps impacted the overall value proposition. First, the beach was completely closed. My primary decision-driver when booking was the ability to enjoy the ocean steps from my room, and that expectation was not met. The closure was attributed to “beach renovations,” but this was not disclosed at booking, which created a clear misalignment between the marketed experience and the actual guest journey. Second, although the property positions itself as an “All-Inclusive Luxury” resort, several on-site restaurants required an additional fee to dine. That felt off-brand and diminished the all-inclusive promise. The same applied to certain drink options—unexpected upcharges that created friction in what should have been a seamless experience. Lastly, during one of the evenings, the resort hosted a Christmas event in the Sanctuary town for an additional $30 per person. Again, if the resort is positioning itself as fully inclusive, it’s difficult to justify incremental charges for on-property events. Overall, the resort has strong potential, but these inconsistencies diluted the luxury value and impacted the overall guest experience. I do want to give a special shout-out to Alejandro from the Wok restaurant, and Denni from Blue Marlin who delivered truly exceptional service. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and above-and-beyond approach elevated every touchpoint of our dining experience.

This is my third solo trip, my second to The Dominican Republic, and unfortunately, I was wildly disappointed with my experience at Sanctuary. For an all-inclusive, I expected most things to be “all-included,” but there was a price of $10 to be paid every single time when ordering room service, something I haven’t encountered before. Although I was told that it wasn’t for the food, but for the transportation, it was disappointing considering the quality of the food. The breakfast potatoes were incredibly salty, overcooked, whereas the eggs and French toast were not appetizing. The restaurants such as the Blue Marlin and The Steakhouse had good food and I was pleased with it! However, the Sanctuary Town which consists of multiple restaurants were not included at all, which was another disappointment due to the price that was paid for the trip overall. Additionally, the jacuzzi on my balcony did not work and I did not bother asking for it to be fixed, because after viewing the state of the actual tub, which was dirty, I did not want to use it anyways. The staff were kind, particularly the lovely ladies at the cafe in the lobby, but apart from that, there is not much memorable about this resort. Personally, I would not return.

We just returned home from an absolutely fabulous vacation! The grounds were beautiful, but the staff truly made the vacation amazing. From Nicole at the check in, Felix, Miguel, Omar, Abel, Elvi, and Omar by the pool, to Galen and Daniel at the spa, everyone was incredible! Big shout out to Roberto, at the Blue Marlin and the Italian restaurant, your VIP treatment and wonderful smile helped make our 20th wedding anniversary trip spectacular! We can’t wait to return! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The room was very clean, staff was great, especially: Edwardo, Jacob , and Sandro the waiters at the Italian, steak house and breakfast buffet. All were attentive, personable, and kind. They really added to our stay. Joe the Bartender and Gineete the hostess at the Italian restaurant are spectacular. Really great people offering tremendous service. The main check in desk staff were great, just loved the experience.
